The car is a right hand drive version, built for those countries where folks drove on the left side of the road.
In this case Australia, state of Victoria.
I'd say the object on the hood and behind the hood ornament, is either Aileen's handbag or a camera bag.
What Old has labeled as legs, is probably one of the handles (straps)

One little problem. The heart stone in the gas station photo is glued together. If he just found them and was cleaning them how do you explain that. The break marks are in both photos

That does not explain the glue residue marks in both photos that are exactly the same. The story is he stopped and washed off the dirt. That does not fly.
There are scratches on the negative on the right side near the windshield post (pillar). That adds to the confusion.
Below is what I see. Its just a guess. Could be anything or nothing. What do you see? I'm definitely open for a different suggestion.

Wow Frank!! You are absolutely right - the break lines in the heart stone in the bumper photo and the museum photo are exactly identical.

What if the witch/priest figure is neither and what if the hat is an exaggerated poorly craved Sombrero View attachment 1177429. Isn't Weavers Needle also know as the Sombrero.
If you look at the heart stone on display closely in person at the museum I doubt you would question that is glue residue marks. A very poor job of gluing the stones back together.
