The Peralta Stone Maps, Real Maps to Lost Gold Mines or Cruel Hoax?

Do you think the Peralta stone maps are genuine, or fake?

Thanks Casca.
Enough to keep on looking, anyway.
And it's a great way to stay in shape.

Hi my friend, I can see some markings but I'm not sure if they are real.remember that erosion. Can make markings lighter.look at the picture with the large black spot on the cliff. Now just to the right there is a heart that is gigantic and the tip points down to the big gap between giant boulder.there are bushes or a tree there.look behind the tree it looks like a black line marking in you can see like the left top corner of of a rectangle.
Also always look at trees on the hill areas that tree is really dark green which tells me there is a good source of water.now look at the left top curve of the heart it looks like two large numbers marked in black a 4 and an 8.take care

Lots to look at out there....and for, if one believes the mountains were ever used as a hiding place.
There are enough holes in the area to keep me busy for more than a few days yet, most of which are natural and formed by erosion/faulting...or both.
This does not, as some seem to suggest, exclude any of them from having been used for hidden storage IMO.

There are some interesting photos and new information on facebook at Stone Tablets Peralta. They're worth a look.

Had a look.
Couple of pictures of a pointed rock that doesn't really look like anything familiar to me.
Didn't see any new information, though.

Did you click on the pictures to enlarge them? I spent years in the Superstition Mtns and never saw anything remotely resembling the stone tablets. If you can't make out the priest rock or the heart on the top of the mountain maybe you've been out in the sun too long. There are also maps under the heart. I've been working in this area for over 15 years and am not ready to give up all I know yet. I've found more markers here than you'd believe.

Don't know why you think I might have done anything to you. What's that story? I'm just trying to get out some important information that I have been working on for 15 years. Of course, I'm not going to tell it all right now. My research isn't in the Superstition Mtns although I did spend many years there.

Tell me about yourself and what area you live, if you don't mind .I'm getting a new crew of partners for another mine.

Yes I did.
In fact I copied them to a photo editor and enlarged them enough to notice a couple of things.
That's why I didn't mention the "heart" in my post.
I haven't the "foggiest" idea where your photos were taken, but I'll be looking forward to seeing more.

I checked the photos out also.
Are you going to post more to the page?

I just posted a few more pictures. A color picture of the "preist" rock with a better angle, plus another with the "three" on the horse map. Glad you took the time to look closely.
Food for thought: While studying the tablets, notice that there is no name given for the river. Why would that be? Who ever made the map already knew the name of the river. Plus, there is no mention of treasure, silver, gold or mines. Neither is the name "Peralta" on the tablets. What indicates that they have any thing to do with the Superstition Mountains. Thank-you for your interest. More to follow. I've been working on this for 15+ years. (Not counting the time I spent in the Superstition Mountains)
Believe what you SEE not what you've heard.

NP:
Your fifteen years easily exceeds my own three years of working with the stones, but I am satisfied with what I have located and made record of so far. This includes what appears in one of my longer distance shots to be a second priest, not far from the first, which appears to have the "1751" of the "Treasure Cross" on the rock face to his left. The shape appears to mirror that of the stone priest as well, including the outline of the cloak. Looks like he is pointing a cross at something interesting..!

I'm not sure if you have read much of the many pages of Stone Map discussions which can be found on the three main websites, but if you have, you should know you are just one of many who have "solved" the Stone Maps. There have also been many books, pamphlets, and articles written by some very experienced authors as well. All of these sources have included a multitude of photographs of "priests","horses", various markers and "hearts" to illustrate their theories, since there is no shortage of such "markers" to be found within the range. While most believe the maps apply to the Sups, there are a few who do not, such as the Dillman Brothers. Some, like myself, doubt any involvement of the Peraltas, or even that the stones reveal the location of mines, and have said so in a number of debates. Others suspect they lead to nothing important at all, or like Cactusjumper, that they are a map created by some well known DH'ers, using historical points of interest within the Sups to reach the location of a heart shaped rock formation, He believes what he has seen, as do I. And like myself, he also believes in what he can see for himself,by having "been there" rather than relying on what he has been told he should see. The lack of any mention of Peralta, which river that "RIO" might apply to (if any at all), and why no expressed mention of treasure or mines can be found on anything other than one Stone Cross has been frequently brought up as well, with no resolution to date.

Welcome to the club.

Dear Somehiker,
To start with, I respect everybody's opinions on what they find. At no time did I claim in my posts to have "solved" the stone maps. I am merely putting forth further evidence of what I have found in my search. At the time I first noticed the similarities in the stone tablets, I was actually hunting for another treasure. Once I noticed the similarities to the tablets that's what I focused on. Everything on the stone tablets, including the river, is within a 2 mile radius. I don't believe in co-incidences. And there is too much history in the area that I'm looking at to be ignored. Whether the stone tablets involve treasure or not, I intend on putting this information out. And as far as reading books on the tablets and the Dutchman, I spent over 20 years with the best stone tablet researchers I believe ever lived. I've heard every story and every legend told by all the old-timers. I was raised in the mountains, hiked many mountains and canyons and will probably die in the mountains. I am not only a treasure hunter but a treasure finder. 5 years ago, I had a stroke and that hasn't slowed me down at all. I live for the hunt. There are a lot of things that I know that I haven't posted, both about the tablets and the Dutchman that has never been released to the public. One thing I learned years ago is research, research, research. I wish you the best of luck. Keep in touch. NP

NP,

Not all opinions are on the same level. We often have to evaluate theories presented by folks who show no knowledge of the mountains or the known facts.
Many of us will try to point people in the right direction, but that is not always appreciated.

If I were new to the game, I would pay attention to people like Wayne (Somehiker). He has a wide range of knowledge, and serious "boots on the ground" time.

If you're who I think you are, you have some serious time in the range yourself. Did we first meet on the trail after a spreading of ashes in the Supe's?

During the years that I lived at the base of the Suptns and IN the Mtns, I was involved in the spreading of a lot of ashes. So you'll have to be more specific about the time and events surrounding when we may have met. Yes, I do have some serious time spent in the Suptns. With what you provided, I don't recall your name, did you go by any other name? Did you ever meet "Doc R"? He always refered to me as the "Cat Man" because I camped in a cave with two mountain lions that befriended me. Yes, I wore out some boots, NP
I may be a newbie to the computer but I'm not a newbie to treasure hunting.
