Lazy?
Only in jest.

Well you know that old saying - "when the shoe fits...."

;D :D ;)

Laziness, NOT necessity, is the "mother of invention"! (heh heh)

:D :D ::)

I know the feeling.

That's when we say we are seriously conniving, intellectually inventive,
Never admitting to anywhere near lazy.

LOL

You can say that again my friend :)

Stilldign:
You say in your "first", the beginning of this "topic"
That the "map"
Is in code, and needs to be decoded as the descriptions are not what they appear to be !
As one example you say the the "Treasure Room" is east of the Present day mission
Not ! West! Etc!
Then how come, "The Pure Conception Mine" and other of the signs & symbols
Are exactly where the map and the "WayBill" say they are ?
Come out to the "field"
And!
I can & WILL! show you this!
Map vs Actual location
They agree exactly!
I hope you are not being influenced by The Treasure Room Mine, that IS! in the mnts,
EAST of the Present day Mission!

Where is Stilldign. ???

I"m still trying to get this "Plug & Play"
TO!
"Plug & Play" !
I am going to "scan" a photo this very second and see what happens !!!

I hope that this comes thru...
Here's a shot of me standing in front of a Spanish Mine in Stone Corral Canyon!

To Mrs OroBlanco ...
Yep !
That's a "PISTOL" I'm a carry'n ! ::)

Oh! Ye of Little Faith !!!! :D
Here's another one of the Spanish Mine...
Did you think that I didn't have any photos :D
Or!
Perhaps, I was "Spuffing" everyone along ??? ::)
Or!
Maybe, I was not actually out in the field ?? :-\

As you can see this is not the same Mine as the First photo!
But!
They are Both Authentic Spanish Mines! :D
And!
For those of you who suggested using a remote camera, you can see,
the floor is kind of rough for that!
&
As you can also see,
There's NO! Timbering,
There's NO! Tracks for the mine cars
There's NO! Electricity of any kind...
' cus!
This was 300-400 yrs before "FEMA" came around!
Notice the width of the tunnel ?
Notice the height ?
Nothing like the modern day mine is it ?

No, never thought you didn't have them. Just wanted to see some pics. Being here in Illinois, I don't get a chance to see mines like that. Thanks for posting them. How far back do they go, and how much clearing is involved in getting into one?

;D I was just Kidding ! ::)

I was in six separarte mines along the canyon
&
Arizona was in the middle of a drought ... :'(
YET!
EVERYONE of them WAS FLOODED! :-\
Those "Sneaky" Spanish Guys :D sure know how to keep a person out ! ::)
They don't need no Death Trap!

cptbil,
What convinces you that this mine is spanish and 400-400 yrs old?. Couldn't this simply be a small scale operation from 1860? I have seen and been in many holes similer to this one where no timbering is necessary, certainly in AZ this is quite common. What makes this one spanish?

Thanks,Bill

All of the mines that I went into in this canyon,
Either side of the canyon
Are within about 1/2 mile from a very large Mission building!
Roughly, 45 x60' in length
I have a photo or two of the mission, I'll dig them up and post them!
A couple of the mines are right out the back door of the mission
AND!
I mean, right out the back door...
One false step and you're in the mine ! :P
They may even go under the floor of the mission,
As I did venture into one of them and the tunnel went down and then turned and was headed that direction!
Maybe a storage area/room? :P
Also,
A couple of the mines are, right across the canyon/creek along the north wall, from the mission !
Plus!
There are no signs a road to any of the mines!
Which just reminded me,
That is a solid rock ledge, about 2' high that has a trail, foot traffic, that cut the outcropping all of the way to the ground!
Now!
It means that there was one heck of a lot of foot traffic over that ledge to cut a trail thru solid 2' of rock, that deep! ::)
There is an explanation to some of this traffic ...
At the very head of the canyon, and there is a well used trail, going a few miles due west, and then over the top, lies

The Virgin of Guadalupe Mine ! :o
I'll post a photo of this also!

Now kindly remember,
That I :
Went to ASU and Majored in Geology
I worked for Magma Copper Co. for 2 1/2 yrs ..
One of the Hottest Mines in the World!
As a Geologist, a "Jr" ( "Gofer" type college student)
@ the 4800' & 5000' levels
As well as a "guide" for visitors & general sampling, all over the rest of the mine levels!
& !
One yr for Kennecott Copper Co... in exploration work (prospecting/drilling for copper) though out central Arizona
Mostly Northeast of Tucson ... in The Galiuro Mnts....
So!
Please don't confuse me with some "newbee" ;)
I AM NOT!
Some "NewBe" ! to mines/mining ! ;D

Bill96:
Are you located in Arizona?
I checked your "profile" but you didn't fill in that part? ::)

What you're looking at, above , is a
"Spanish Monument Marker" :P
It has on the side,
The Mine's Name, the Owners Names and the Date !
Ever actually seen one before ?
This one is a lead to, but not directly concerning
The Pure Conception Mine
This IS! Shown on The Molina Map!
AND!
It is located exactly as shown on the Map!
If you'd like to see it... :o
Doc and I will be camped very near to this...
make arrangements to do so @ any time!
(After March)
Any takers out there ?

"Gollum"
