I was going to say gentlemen. but treasure hunters are not gentlemen. Gullum, Cpt Bill, (bugs excepted) and Tayopa are excellent examples of just treasure hunting bums! They all would happily abscond with some pore Jesuit's treasure
However, speaking from personal experience, there are many many reasons why one can't just go pick up a treasure that you have finally deciphered it's location, nor advertise on the net if you were successful..
As long as it is only described as a potential recovery, you are fairly safe, but once publically declared , the wolves will quickly GATHER.
If you can hire a hit man for only 10 - 15,000 dollars, what do you think is the safety factor of a large treasure?
I, for example, am in the center of a large drug growing area, group, ones that simply hack off an arm just as an example to a recalcitrant farmer for not letting them plant on his land.
Then there are simple finances, this I was well aware of until recently.
If a large sum is involved, how do you pick associates that will always wonder publically where their lost partner ended up??
Then again in many areas of the world you must deal with the go'vt, which can be the biggest wolf of all.
And not the least, even though you are sure that you have finally solved a map or document, are you willing to put your life and family's future up to single throw of life's stacked dice? IS IT STILL THERE?
This is just a small part of the problem if you decide to go for a big one. Remember, you CANNOT hide a big recovery !
Of course there will always be nuts such as I mentioned at the start.
Don Jose de La Mancha
p.s. There is a remote possibility that Djuice might be one , but frankly, I believe that he is just as big a bum as the others.
