Looking for a Fit buddy/partner to go into the desert mountains

Ya that’s no fun. I am not stranger to that. Once I took my 3brothers along and went 4hours bushwhacking into the wild Canadian mountains, one of my brothers is diabetic and didn’t take care of his insulin and went into shock,….. I had to leave all my gear behind and run for help only with small pack of water, made it back in 2 hours….. didn’t had satellite sos back then but gps app to save the location . The SAR took him out with the helicopter within one hour, luckily all my gear too.

If someone is not in the right kind of condition, a long trip into wilderness can be
life threatening. Preparation, including the physical training to build the necessary
cardio, must be done well in advance.

I live in/near a wilderness area where they pull bodies out every year because people
did not prepare.

I totally agree with you, that being said, even the best and well prepared die in the wilderness, it’s a risk I like to take, better then getting hit by a car or shot on the streets which is probably more likely to happen

Probably not what you want to hear or anybody else would recommend, but it would probably work better for you if you planned to go in on your own. Take a gun and a satellite phone, a walking stick and a water filter pump, ditch that big tent and go in with the least amount of gear possible after a rain in March/April, Oct/Nov. Get some good leather boots and trim your toe nails.
THAT'S the best advice I've seen here. The very LAST thing you want to do is find a "partner" via social media. People get killed by doing something like that

Hi There,
I am 37 Years old and prospect a lot here around British Columbia in the mountains, i have all my own gear ( detectors, pans, sluices, hiking gear)

I am looking for a partner to go into the superstition mountains to check on the Peralta stone locations (cant say to much as to only that i have matched 90% of the stone map to a location that no one out there has publicized yet)
and also a second trip to check on a cache in Utah a Petroglyph map that i cracked and found the location.

Please be aware that there is a lot of hiking/climbing with gear involved and experience is a must, i am talking like hardcore endurance.
please private message me if you feel like an adventurer and want to join me, i don't mind where you live as long as you are flexible with your time and are mobile to meet me in Utah and Arizona

Since you say you have a lot of experience hiking, I am going to assume you want a partner primarily as a climbing spotter or belayer in which case, as others have said, this is absolutely the last place you should be looking. A climbing partner must be someone you feel safe entrusting with your life and limb, and is not someone you find on a whim. Also, climbing in the Superstitions is very dangerous because of the type of geology contained in these mountains: very brittle, always crumbling and breaking without notice or warning.

Also, am I right in assuming this is your first trip to the Supers? In which case, I would advise you to just start off with some simple hikes instead of something that requires "hardcore endurance." I have hiked many, many times in the Supers over the years and not once did I have to invoke some sort of "hardcore endurance" to explore the mountains, other than the discipline to stop and turn back when I started to run out of daylight.

One last thing: there are not that many trees in the Supers, never mind one that bends right over, so you will have to use something else such as an actual climbing rope to lower yourself somewhere.

back around 20 years ago me and a buddy were on a coues whitetail rifle hunt.
we were around Spencer spring and swede camp. very rough country. we could see the
deer 100 yards away on the other side of the steep canyon.
i tried going down into that canyon. i slipped and slid on my butt about 15 feet. hitting a small tree was all that stopped me from going
all the way down. bumped my scope hard enough that it lost zero. i was a bit banged up.
i have done a lot of hunts, deep hikes, nugget hunting and prospecting in Arizona. i wont do the superstitions
ever again. everyone looks at google maps and thinks oh that doesn't look to bad. you get out there boots on the ground
and its vertical.
its a very good idea to have someone that's in good shape and capable with you in an area as rough as it is out there.
good luck with your hike/hunt.

I grew up hiking and exploring the Superstition Mountains. You need someone with local, actual knowledge of the Mountains. They change internally every winter and spring with rains and flooding. Certain areas will make a compass spin, while in others there is no cell or satellite connections possible.
As a past volunteer, I suggest you get some advice from my friends here https://superstitionsar.org/contact/

Lastly, the stones are not real, period. The Peralta mines were not what legend has made them out to be. Good Luck to You! - Terry
Are you still local? I am in Gold Canyon.

It is politically if a group of people pushing one scenario…..all I wanted is just a partner to go out for some adventure,…. And the prove will come later, I would be a fool to post it now
I am literally looking out of my back window at the Supe's right now. I am interested in Type 2 adventure, I'm just a bit confused on your inclusion of technical climbing in your search? Surely you don't think it's at the top of the Needle? I have most of the named peaks here on my resume, PM if you want, but I don't intend to haul climbing gear in to climb unstable faces, I'm fairly certain the LD didn't either.

So you never went in for a couple of nights? Most I’ve done was 4 days and 3 nights

Saw your ad. 2 wordz. Easy pickins. i wil do it since everyone else is too scaried of it.

May I ask, why you are so convinced that the LDM does not exists? I've seen you make the comment in the past - and I'm curious as to WHAT you might have found or theorized as to why you're so sure of it, NOT existing.

It was found many moons ago. There are very few places in the Superstitions that gold can be found. The geology proves that. The Superstition Mining district, this area along AZ SR 88, just NE of Apache Junction, was discovered in 1893, though there are reports of earlier prospects (e.g. the Palmer mine: 1886) and workings there. It is estimated to have produced 5,000 oz of Au, 4,000 oz of Ag and 16,000 lbs of Cu from 23,000 t of ore taken from high-grade veins hosted in Whitetail Conglomerate and Precambrian Ruin Granite.

Like I said I do have it figured out, groundbreaking, astronomical match. But I can not show it here.
Ya I did my research and read the better part of the treads…… again just because no one had much or lacked knowledge doesn’t mean the heart map is dismissed, even the extra creek and cache on the paper heart map fits perfectly to my area. Everybody was looking at the wrong direction because they tried following Mr. Walzes trail…..

But ya I will most likely get in contact with the local SAR team to ask for weather nd stuff.
The paper heart map was made for that dumb show that was on tv.. try another map,or 2,or 3…. All i needed was 1.. well 2 … cant say i found much.. was a bit out of my league.. meaning whomever drew em up were a helluva lot smarter than myself.. but i do like to go to the area every now and then.. nobody cared to give me a hand 10 years ago so i widpsh you luck.. idont even know why i poston here at all to tell you the truth.. sony lost souls and misinformation floatong around.. it used to be entertaining.. now its somewhat of a joke..

I wish I was young and fit again because it sounds like a excellent opportunity to live in adventure.
Good luck
