Yesterday I started the clean-up of the branches.
Got the wood chipper just a purring on the 1972 Ford 3000 @ 1800RPM
Managed to get the front yard looking back to an almost normal state.
Took 4 full loads of chips away and a load of wood, still have another 2 loads of wood with the side by side.
Going to concentrate on the laneway today, this will take a few days to get into order.

Need to get a bearing for the 5000 tractor as there's some serious log moving to happen.
Seems that an order I was doing on Sunday wouldn't go through, but I noticed that the CC was charged and they got paid. :dontknow:

I understand a profit in business but the tractor supply place wanted the price inflated price of over $210 with tax.
2 bearings and a seal can be bought online at many places for under $30
I try to tell myself that I'm paying for convenience.....I get my part right now off the shelf !! No waiting, and my time is not wasted waiting for parts. Sometimes that will justify (in my mind) an astronomical mark up....but only Sometimes. It's the "how bad do ya want it factor" that might make me overpay !!

This is the whole problem with the world..
You pay $10.49 for a bearing.
They quote me $101.50 for that same item.

Here's the kicker Bart.

"We have to order that item in, so a week Thursday"
So the 🌶 goes might as well order it himself and save $$$
My delivery date will be the same or quicker.
Sure it's sometimes just convenient to get it done.
Another example:
The Mrs had a broken tail light.
Local dealer stated that the part wasn't available.
The 🌶 found one in 5 minutes from the wrecking yard.
Had it picked up instead of being shipped.
Sat here for a month, so the Mrs had a recall on the car.
Asked the dealer to put in.
Quote: $135.00 + 13%tax
30 minutes install.

Ok time for the 🌶 to get it done.

So what did this accomplish?
Well we went out and had wood oven pizza, drinks, desserts. Left a $100 note(included 20% tip)
And we still saved $$$
When somebody can show me where the $$$ tree grows, I will start seeing the world differently.
Old school here, had to earn it, didn't come easy, so letting it go comes without some thinking.

Here's another example of what we have dealt with lately.
Mrs bought another car.
Asked dealer what they were going to give her on hers.
$2500.00
They car has 90K on it.
They sell for $11,000-12,000 privately.
Just another example of loosing $$$.
Let's be honest here, if they'd stated $6-7k that's a fair quote.
The $2500 is Let's bend ya over and no 😘 included.

Even though they are ice cream buckets, food grade. These will be used for chicken feed. Will fill them up, stack them up in the barn. Mouse proof.
No trudging in the winter for feed.
I put the bird feeder seed in them as well.

We use big metal trash cans for the same purpose. Keep out mice and raccoons for sure. Haven't been tested by bears yet.

You here yet ??
Last day of work today, driving home to Alabama tomorrow. Thursday driving down to Palm Beach, then Friday headed to Key West for four wild days and nights, then headed your way for three days before finishing up in Ft. Pierce for a couple of days of detecting.

Heres a link / page of really cool and very valuable things found... Very interesting...

There are some incredible and inspiring things in there. Gotta love #79 -- the Great Cobra Scare of '53. There's a local brewery that now makes a beer that bears that name. Their history of that event is here.

Good evening my lovelies xx hope you all had a terrific Tuesday😆 xx 🤗

We survived the day, but alas Himself got the double, I stand by the fact that I have to take the photos and scan the LiDAR lumps, so he has a higher chance of wandering over the treasure….. 😬 ! Ha! So tomorrow he wants to go back to the Dirk field 🫤 I feel another defeat heading my way 😂 xx
