Good morning peeps.

Working on the shed. Have to race the snow storm to find siding. Have to rethink the siding because cedar is too pricey. Possibly going with pine now. Missed Msbeep. Bummer. Will catch up with you all later. Have a great day everyone!

Lumber prices are skyrocketing WD....I just built a pair of saw horses....usally 40$ in material....now its 70$ in material !!

Our new dock is western red cedar. The contractor did a modest up charge from the treated brown poison lumber.
I did hear an ouch, about the availability and the cost.
We're thinking he might of eat a tad bit of lunch.
But he'll be highly recommended for the job, and honesty.

Morning WD. pepper. RR. bart. bill. Fat and ole chop liver whoever they are.

Wow
Very nice bart

Morning one and all.
Will try a little M'tecting today with SPhillips. Strong blow yesterday but not sure yet where we'll end up. Whichever area will have sugar sand. Only the color might be different.

This is the side of Old Dixie highway in Wabasso where East Coast RR has been prepping the ground for new rails(?) in anticipation of Briteline service to Orlando.
This "cleared of trees" area is about 1.5 miles long. Might prove interesting for surface finds as well as metal.

I'll leave you with this image of a sunwoof I saw this week.

Pete,

That's the Florida East Coast RR I presume? About 20 years ago had a business trip and we managed to visit with the traffic manager and shared a nice meal in St Augustine.

Very nice Bart, my buddy did 4 chairs for us in white oak. The previous home was in the wind so regular seating was a given they'd blow over. I stained a few and this one in the Red Pine Tar/Linseed coating.

(Won't doing that one again-took 6 months to cure.):laughing7:

I been to St. Augustine a couple times. The best resturaunt in town is The Columbia. It's a beautiful building on the east* side of the Historic District. I always get the cheapest thing on the menu, The Cuban Sandwich. The coffee the Columbia serves is hard to beat, IMO.

Did you visit the Fort, Bill?

I watched them touch off one of the cannons once. They make a good show about it with a fairly good representation of an officer in authentic uniform ordering the soldiers to load, aim, and fire. Takes them about fifteen minutes. Afterwards I quizzed the guy playing the officer. He told me they only used three pounds of black powder and a rag wad instead of the usual 10 plus pounds and 17 pound iron ball. It was still loud as hell.

Edit- * make that the west side, I had my compass inverted? Dang water is on the wrong side of the map too. :laughing7:

Morning PP55 TG79. and Duckshot

Duckshot,

Unfortunately we didn't get a chance it was one of the whirlwind type of trips. We visited the N.S. in Roanoke on Wednesday then had to fly back to Detroit to go to Jacksonville, Fl to visit with the CSXT. Friday drove to St Augustine to meet with the FEC for a tour and supper.

Then we drove to Daytona, Fl for Saturday did an over nighter to get a cheap return trip to Montreal Sunday morning.
