Mornin all!

Guy behind me in the woods by the next road apparently has another dog. For some reason he goes through dogs. Seems he thinks it needs to be outside all the time.
It's squalling at daylight inspired my dogs to sound off at the distress. Good thing I'm up late at night just in case anyone (me) wants to sleep in till nine o'clock on a weekend..

Guy is a dumb-ass. Beyond his attitude about dogs he's still a dumb-ass..
If I make him mysteriously disappear , someone worse will probably move in. But I'm getting tempted to find out.

Boatlode,
Another trick with gamey type of fish is to use lots of lemon juice it helps a lot. We sometimes buy frozen sardines and that's what we use to cut the oily taste when cooking them.

You can put lemon slices on top of the filet before you cook it. I prefer to use tomato slices.

Lemon juice destroys the flavor of the fish and just makes it sour. Better to serve it with lemon wedges so people can add lemon according to their taste.

I never add lemon to fish, but that's my personal taste.

AARC, I'm south of Tampa Bay, near Venice right now. I got a friend from MKE flying in to TPA first week of January. We are going to try to hit a party boat out of Hubbards in St. John Pass. You are officially invited to come along, if you like.

Probably won't catch nothing but white grunts and black Sea bass. I'm going to try for a hogfish. My friend from MKE is hoping for a chance to catch a big grouper despite the fact that they are closed for harvest right now. I told him, "Well there is always hope. (There is no chance)" :laughing7:

Don't worry about being close to the ocean... That time will come when a hurricane is approaching "the decision you made" AKA - your house... heh...

Which at that time you will remember that you are either CLOSE to the ocean... OR... 2 miles away from the ocean.

Oh and one more thing concerning this...

That is... insurance... unless you have a budget that affords serious hurricane insurance... And especially in Florida... its all about "location location location"... even for hurricanes and insurance carriers.

Just food for thought my friend.

:)

ARC,

Yep better to be 5 or 10 minutes from the ocean. You probably get a house for 1/2 or less the price and no risks of getting flooded.
