Afternoon Boatload and Msbeepbeep

Good afternoon ladies and gents.

Nothing really exciting going on here, other than my intense hatred for the USPS getting worse. They jack up the rates weekly now it seems, and the service is crappy anyway. I've had packages that I ordered WEEKS ago, still in their home states. States that border my state. That's bull. My grandmother sent four envelopes to my family, and one to my uncle, who lives across from her on a different street. He got his envelope THREE WEEKS later, and we got our envelopes at different times, for about two weeks now.

Tonight for supper some pork chops on a bed of apples and cider. On the side I'll be roasted some cubed up skin on potatoes with red pepper slices and some onions in olive oil and herbes de provence.

I think we also have our last batch of kale from the garden I'll saute with some garlic.

Tasty supper for the cooler weather.

Good evening crew mates.

Whadifind, awesome! Now we have our own custom Christmas song aboard ship.

We had snow last week...and I got confused and hibernated. :dontknow::laughing7:

WD hope you and all yours stay out of covid's reach.
As well as our entire crew.

We've had the 3 youngest test pos. They are in another state. But their mom is still neg. so far. She's probably an A-sym and immune by now.

Boatlode...don't yell shipwreck too loud, Captain will start tossing us all over the side to lighten the ship.:laughing7:

Took 5 days to get a card from a neighbor 3 houses away :dontknow::icon_scratch:???

Is it just me ? ? ?

Or is it also obvious to anyone else out there... Covid masks are absolutely useless.

Otherwise... with everyone "social distancing" and wearing masks etc etc... sanitizers and everyone cleaning everything.

And yet.

Everyday a new record number of cases... no decline whatsoever... no curve... nothing but steady climb.

And dont say testing is more... it has been the same rate for over a month... so testing amounts are fubar.

The biggest thing is folks aren't use to wearing something on the face-period.
I watch and it's touchy - touchy - re-adjust - touchy - touchy = contaminated mask that they're just infecting the face.
It isn't hard, sanitize the paws well put mask on-Don't touch it no matter what-unless one washes the paws or sanitizes them again. One has to do this when taking it off also.
The world is a warm wet raw chicken-and I stick by that thought.

Yes , they are overwhelmed. And it's more than just covid or the holidays.
We had a package stall out and take a long rest. Crazy...
Gotta pay a premium for still slow motion.

Always check the road near old homesteads where a mailbox is or was.
As a tot I'd get sent to the mailbox with some coins and a note from my Mom to request postage/stamps from the mailman.

Compared to today?
I put a check addressed to "postmaster" in the official orange order envelope with it's official form printed on it that I fill out as to what I want ,count, costs, total ect. and put it in the mailbox.
When my stamps appear (hooray, success!) they arrive in the same official envelope with it's official order form printed on it. But it's been filled out by me from my order. So if I want to order something different .... I need a new official envelope with it's official order form printed on it.

Now , why in the heck doesn't the post office gamble that I'll buy stuff from it/them again , and include a blank official envelope/not filled out official form that has been printed on ?
Or to put it another way , how am I supposed to get a new official order envelope with it's official postal order printed on it's official hide? By going to the official post office again?
Or hide and ambush the official mail lady out at the main road in her varied arrival times?

Should have sent it regular mail... cheaper and gets there faster.

Aye Cap'n. Its nothing to do with masks. But.... What do you suppose the rate might be if nobody attempted to keep their germs to themselves? :icon_scratch:

Here's something that it appears nobody has figured out. This virus is a whole lot smarter than anyone thinks!! As soon as it gets on *any* part of the human body....it *IMMEDIATELY* makes your nose/face itch!!!! :tongue3:

Rusty,

Good afternoon are we in a foul mood? You're starting to sound like a grinch...:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Maybe. I've been on the road a lot too, with people who don't know how to drive, the post office, among other things. Some days, I just pick to be a grouch. This is one of them.

:P

Oh, we'll try again tomorrow. :laughing7:

Rates IMO... would be the exact same if no one wore a mask... again IMO.

In fact I attribute more cases TO the masks.

ARC,

For what's it's worth the average infected covid person passes it on to 2 1/2 people. Somewhere or other in a country that was doing contact tracing approximately 18% of those infected were responsible for 80% of the new infection.

So in other words it's more than likely those who don't take adequate precautions who are the super spreaders.

Heck we've gone in stores and seen both customers and employees wearing masks down below their noses they might as well not wear them at all in my opinion.

Its not people not taking precautions... as much as it is "places".

For example... a small store... a convenience store lets say... (and this applies to ALL public accessed buildings)... anyway... In a day they will have a constant flow of people... carriers... no carriers... and all in same small area for various lengths of time... all touching the same door handles etc... all breathing in and exhaling the SAME air... all day everyday.

The "buildup" of virus in the air in your local store... be it a small one or a large one... all very busy with the same situations going on.

When you breath out through a mask... you are still exhaling virus through... and out crevices etc.

Unless it is a CERTIFIED... N95 grade or better mask... there is little to no effect.

99% of masks sold out there today are NOT N95 certified... and even then they are not fail proof.
