I have the John Lennon Signature EJ160 guitar that he is playing in "I'm A Loser" and "Boys" in my collection.
I saw the BEATLES live, September 11,1964 at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville.
The show was produced by WAPE 690AM radio, and the opening acts were Bill Blacks Combo, Jackie deShannon, The Exciters, and Clarence "Frogman" Henty.
In 1964, Florida Statues did not permit mixed race acts or audiences, and WAPE was told to tell the BEATLES to drop two of the "colored" acts from the bill. The BEATLES took a stand, refusing to do that, AND refused to perform under those conditions.
Needless to say, the BEATLES won out, and the State of Florida granted an exception, and the show went on.

That gutiar is probably a national treasure.....probably worth more than a 1715 wreck !!

And happy birthday ECS.....72 with the soul of a 27 year old !!

Well.....gosh darn treasure tales.....everybody in an uproar down here....the coconut telegraph is crackling with stories of a gold coin find off the newfound harbor keys....particularly in the area of little munson island/little palm resort. Seems a local conch family (im checking on the name) has made a strike of gold coins.....they are melting them for scrap value and selling the crude bars. There was a similar story a couple years back on cook island. I've done some recon and I think I'm getting close to the spot. This group is looking for help from a fellow hu ter down here....the cat Is out of the bag now and I know one boat is on the way down today all the way from keylargo. My treasure HQ is right there so we will do some looking around.....ill get the boys to drop me close with kyak, detector, and probe. They can drop me off on there way out to mag, and pick me up on the way in. Can't be our wreck because our wreck pre dates the minting of gold coins in the new world. I think we have a ships gold coin payroll, and these coins are american.

What also comes to mind is the "inheritance of money/ill gotten gains" The best stories around here is "We went to the casino" :icon_scratch: Didn't you Ma just pass on a while back also?

One has to take a few theories/stories with a grain of salt-my 1st question would be why melt when the coin value exceeds any melt value if the gold factor is in play.

Pawn shops melt jewellery-simple reason is to turn revenue over-to distort the history of the PM (precious metal) When the bag of jewelry still has all the settings in place I question the validity of the melter/purchase.

To have privately melt anything needs to be re-smelted/assayed for sale. Now melting bullion really ups the game of purity-but not the true market value.

Too many ??? in the making of why things do happen like this-true or embellished-or the moccasin telly running wild.

Best of luck on your outing though Bart-hope your next beep is of gold.

During the Middle Ages, December 6 was celebrated as ST NICHOLAS DAY/ CHTISTMAS.

Good morning fellas.

I went to Barboursville WV yesterday. Man, COVID has things running weird over there. It probably wasn't a good idea, but my dad, my brother and I went to the mall there to go out for the day. In order to get into a store, you cram into a line, and wait with a bunch of people who aren't even wearing masks right. And so much for social distancing!

Anyways, I came out with four memoirs written by WWI and WWII soldiers. Storm of Steel, written by Ernst Junger, is his memoir detailing his fight in WWI on the German side. It is widely accepted as the greatest WWI and possibly greatest combat memoir of all time. A Higher Call is the combined memoirs of B-17 Pilot Charlie Brown, and Bf-109 Pilot Franz Stigler, about their experiences in WWII on opposing sides, and eventually the encounter that the book is mainly about. Franz saw the crippled B-17, and instead of shooting it down, he escorted it home. Franz and Charlie became great friends after the war.

The other two just sounded cool, and I picked them up. I don't know much about them. Panzer Commander: The memoirs of colonel Hans Von Luck, and Five Years, Four Fronts: A German Officers WWII Combat memoir. There were others, but I only brought so much money with me. :)

Sounds like another case of a multi-national mall owner not giving rats rump about the care of customers that frequent their malls.
Your self interest in the WWl/WWll is amazing, I wish I had the passion as yours at that age-or even now for that matter.
Well done on getting the hide/head/rack in for mounting. It takes a longtime to get them it done if the place/artist is worth their salt.
My neighbour/friend trophy hunted/fished and it was a 18-24 month turn around for a head/turkey/fish to be done-but what a piece of artistry when completed.

I'm actually more of an American Civil War nut, but I do like WWII as well. :)

My taxidermist takes a while, but he's real good. I'll have to take a pic of my euro mount that he did.
