NEED HELP WITH PHOTO ID OF POSSIBLE FAMOUS PERSON

2nd clue(s): As the item has no manufacturer's marks on it whatsoever, plus the fact it appears hand made, I suspect it is hand forged and possibly dates circa 1880/1900. Also, it is not what I would consider a typical household item. (In fact, it's not a household item at all!)

Thanks for the suggestion about submitting the photo to the History Detectives. I looked into that previously and discovered they are very particular about what they consider for evaluation. They get thousands of inquiries, and typically only consider those with strong historical possibilities. Which my photo does not have. Or at least not enough to make it a true candidate.

4th clue(s) w/picture: The portion of the item shown here is made (I believe) of brass. It has a patina, but is not corroded. The item is not something everyone would use, but might save them some grief/disappointment if they did need it. Item measures appx. 13 1/2" x 2 1/2"

The ? (question mark) suggest a question, and not a guess. Questions are not allowed. So I will have to give you two demerits. Lol :laughing9: But to answer your question anyway, no, it is not surgical related in any manner.

Thanks.

Don't feel bad. I suspect if no one guesses it beforehand, that even seeing a full image picture of it, that only about one in a hundred people will know what it is right off the bat. I can't tell you how many people I have showed it to over the years and who held it in their hands, but still did this ... :icon_scratch:

A rather revealing picture and clue will be posted tomorrow morning. I'm hoping someone will identify it then.

nicht! (Which is German for "no").

But since you are one of the primary participants, and may ID it after seeing tomorrow's picture, you might want to start thinking about what prize you want - comic book - postcard - map - arrowhead - or just about any number of small (mostly southwest) type of collectible.

Give it your best shot!

What the .... is a wire puller? Oops! That's a question. Two demerits for me! ;D

I expect someone is going to get it right tomorrow. And I hope they do. But just to let ya know ahead of time, the answer needs to be specific. For example: If it were a car, the answer would need to be "Ford Mustang" or "Chevrolet Camero," and not ... "some kind of car." I just want to be fair to everyone. So the first one who get's it right-right, wins the prize.

Thanks.

I've been watching this thread since it's inception. Now i'm prompted to post. Not that I have anything to add, other than to I think i'm close to the answer on the what's it but I have to go to work so... good luck everyone. I could give a one word clue as to what it is in general terms, but i'll keep it to myself for now, just in case i'm right. It should be a quick day at work and I may still have a chance at this.

Cow tail holder - so you don't get slapped in the face while milking :dontknow:

Good moring. It's 8:30 AM Pacific time where I live.

5th clue(s) w/picture: The correct description of the item is a "two word" answer. Item is intended for outdoor use. Which means not in a garage - barn - shed - shop - etc. It is something a city slicker would likely not use.

Note: If the item were a "claw hammer" the answer would need to be as such. Answers such as "a hammer" or "ball hammer" would not be considered correct. If something like this were to occur, and to be fair to everyone, I will respond by saying ... "partially correct - try again." But my saying that means someone may respond with the correct answer first.

Good luck to all.

And thanks again for your patience and participation.

Note: In the event that no one identifies the item today, I will post future pictures and clues at 9:AM Pacific time. But even by doing that it is impossible for me to know how many members are following this thread or what everyone's schedules are. I'm just doing the best I can to make this fun and interesting for everyone concerned.

Thanks for understanding.
