NEED HELP WITH PHOTO ID OF POSSIBLE FAMOUS PERSON

I wanted to let everyone know that my gopher book arrived today. I will scan and post some pages from it later today or tomorrow, but for now just wanted to let you know there were four different models produced over the years, with the earliest being around 1877, and the later ones around 1908. Which I thought was totally cool!

Below is a page from the gopher trap book where it shows my particular model in the center. They are described as "California Gopher Traps." The author of the book is not certain who made these types of traps as there are no mfg. marks on them. The best I can figure out from his information is that mine was made around 1890/1900. The book itself discusses over a hundred different antique gopher traps. He said the ones like mine are extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors. No values were given, but I guesstimate the value of mine at about $100.00. He also says the traps were advertised in old hardware salesmen's catalogs like the 1903 Simmons one pictured below. My next project is to seek out one of those old catalogs that has an old ad in it of my trap. But this could take me awhile.

Thanks again to everyone who took an interest in this topic. It's interesting how things can go from old photos to old gopher traps in a heartbeat. I suppose that's one of the many reasons why TreasureNet is the place to be, and the place to see.
