...which begs the question...

What is the point of discovering a huge cache like this if you are going to be paranoid that the govt is going to be breathing down your back?

I don't mean to scare anyone away, but what would be the point of discovering a large cache when you aren't even free to disperse it how you see fit?? "You" do all the legwork, "you" do all the reasearch, "you" put in your blood and sweat, the "they" end up taking most, if not all, of it. How is THAT freedom? >:(

Sorry -- maybe this should have gone in the "Personal Rants" area.... :-\

As should have mine about the two rent-a-cops bugging that menace to society metal detectorist Ian yesterday in SC...but hey, pet peaves. The solution is if you find something like this...zip the lips, bury it in the back yard and sell it off a little at a time to pay off your debt, your mortgage etc. and change your lifestyle slowly. If you don't realize a large sum there isn't anything to tax. If you only sell one gold coin the government doesn't care. Or, if you can get someone to take gold as payment then so be it! You can pay someone in chickens if you want. As long as they accept it. The ONLY thing that is really worth money is the gold that backs it up. The rest is just "Legal tender" for use in public or private transaction, but does NOT have to be accepted as payment. So pay in gold!

Still here Kids and I am not rich!! LOL I have done a lot of research this winter on the loot. There is not a lot of info. Was up in the area and could see there was still snow on the ground!! I have been working the Whites XLT. One problem I am having I don't know the best way to set it up for gold. I have found a bunch of stuff. Nothing really significant. Except one wheat penny and a silver band ring. One of the local reservoirs Is being drained for repairs. So I go out regular and comb the beach. Helps me figure out the MD.
I plan on a lot of time up there this summer. Bill is just barley getting around now. Infact he just went back to work after a year and a half.
Any recommends for the best prospecting books/videos to set up the Whits xlt??
Utah has a ton of Ghost towns that want me.
Interesting story. My attorney met Butch Cassidi as a Kid. Well Butch owed his uncle money. Butch couldn't pay him. So butch told his uncle where some guns were burried. Near the town of Maylen UT. Ghost town now near Ogden UT. One day the two were riding horses and stopped for lunch. And my attorney was looking around and noticed a tree described by Butch years earlier where the guns were burried. So he decided to go look. Well he found a Yellow Boy. I think he said it was a Henry. And his uncle found a pistol. He has the gun today.
Go Well Be Well

Well he is old enough. He was about 6 when he sat on Butches lap and 10-12 years later when they found the guns. and i am not sure but close to 90 and his mind is keen. If ya want to look him up his name is Maurice Richards in Ogden. I am thinking you don't believe me. I am sorry! I suppose you don't believe about the cabin. Kewl. Go Well

This is possible if Butch returned to the USA and was not killed in South America in 1908.Which in 1993 a team went to South America and the DNA from the dead outlaw in South America did not match Butch. So If the Attorney was born by 1930 all this would work out and if he is 90 he would of been born in 1917(no Problem). The story with butch coming back to the USA has him dieing in 1936.So i would think this is all Highly Possible.

I have read this entire thread and maybe I missed something.....
May I ask why haven't you dig in the spot the guy with the gold detecting machine told you the gold was.....

All the best,

Chagy.......

If you find it, its plenty of money. Pack, hop on a plane to the Caymun islands, and set up a bank account. Come back to the U.S. if you want, but purchase items through the bank's card. (or transfer small amounts into your U.S. account) Forget the government, finders keepers is what I say. Bunch of crooks and robbers in there anyways, looking to keep ya down.

Rutnbuck. You asked about a special machine to help you locate your lost treasure, and I haven't heard of the one you described, but I know of one other machine that has 100% discrimination. It's a Precious Mineral Molecular Resonator, sold by Prospector & Treasure Hunters Headquarters, Inc. Also, for you Treasure Hunters that were discussing a Wickenburg lost safe, that was lost when the dam in Walker broke, and it washed out Fools Canyon settlement, just above Wickenburg on the Hassyempa River in Arizona, I heard that the safe was found 20 years ago, by a Dowser, and the safe had tumbled open, so the coins are still laying around somewhere out there.. I agree... He had lots of offers for help and did not take anyone up on it.
.......as far as you know :-\

Still here. I have had a busy summer. Sorry I haven't got back sooner. You wouldn't belive the offers I have had to help. Thanks bunches. Like they say. SSS. My kids have gotten involved a little. I have managed to get pretty good so I think with the Whites MD> I have managed to find 5 silver rings 1 small gold band. a silver bracelet and a cheap gold locket out at one of the local beaches. They had to drain the lake for repairs. And a ton of coin at the parks and such. As far as the cabin goes not much change. It is still there.
oh yeah thanks all those with such good critisisum. I promise not to respond to your post. I will remember those who offer good advise. Ye Ha Be Well Go Well
Rutnbuck.

I'm relatively new here, and have been trying to learn, through reading posts, advice, etc. As part of the learning experience I have to ask a question. I understand if you choose not to answer, or don't have an answer. I only ask as I haven't read where you've addressed this directly. Here goes - What is the benefit of spending 2+ years talking about, and researching, a cache when you have already located it and now have the equipment and, apparently, time to use the equipment, to go get the goods?

I'm not trying to be adversarial, just curious.
