🥇 BANNER DIV XXI - Carbine sling buckle and ID tag!

DIV XXI - Carbine sling buckle and ID tag!
I went to my first ever Diggin' in VA the past three days.... had a blast! Days 1 and 2 were spent digging a ton of bullets .... carved bullets... enfields... pistol bullets.... J hooks... buttons.... and an 1859 IH. All great items! But to be honest, I was hoping for one super good item to set it over the top.

Well... I got it on Saturday. After two dry days Saturday started with rains imminent, and me wondering how long I would hunt with my $5000 non-waterproof GPX5000 sealed up with a $.35 cent ziplock bag and duct tape! I had already decided that my son would keep...

🥇 BANNER Eadgar King of Northumbria...

Eadgar King of Northumbria...
1.jpg2.JPG

I have not been posting much lately, this is down to searching for new land and the finds I have been making have been very sparse. But I think I might have found a decent area at last.
High on my wish list of finds has been a Saxon Penny and on Saturday I finally found one, these coins are struck on a large flan, usually about 20mm and usually cracked or damaged in some way...as is this one, although it's at the better end with all the legend. The coin is that of Eadgar, or sometimes spelled Edgar.

All I...

🥇 BANNER Found my wifes birthday present

Found my wifes birthday present
I got very lucky yesterday morning. Found the plat band with small diamonds first and knew I better look a little harder for the second piece and about six feet away I got the other one which is also platinum with approx 2ct solitare diamond. All stones tested real and will have appraised this weekend. Just so happens today was my wifes birthday so you know where the rings are!

Found my best ring find ever apraised value $16,097.76
Went on a trip overseas and found what could be my best find ever..... 1.45ct diamond solitare with 14 full cut diamonds down the side. 14kt. $16,097.76 replacement cost that is not figuring in the designer name brand that cost the buyer an additional 30% which tags this as an over $20,000 ring.
WOW what a find..... I guess the 10,000 pulltabs and 8000 bottlecaps do pay off to dig.
Funny thing is I went to a beach that morning and flooded out my favorite red head excal then went back to the room, tore it down and washd it off with alchohol then dried it out, pt together my back up and...

🥇 BANNER What an amazing day - gold coin/colonial silver and copper/US box plate & more!!

What an amazing day - gold coin/colonial silver and copper/US box plate & more!!
Just got permission for a new colonial site that I've had my eye on for some time. No, this is not the holy grail site I referred to in my last post, but the way it turned out it might as well have been. As I was driving down the lane approaching the house a beautiful bald eagle flew directly in front of my truck so things were starting out right. Then the first signal I got when I walked out in the field was a NY cuff button that fell apart in my hand, but that was still a good sign. After that I wandered around for a bit without finding much, then ventured to another part of the property...

🥇 BANNER CIVIL WAR DOG TAG!

CIVIL WAR DOG TAG!
So today I got out of work a little early so I decided to swing by a cellar hole close to home. The only nice thing that came from this site was a pretty Civil War CT seal button. Somethin told me today I better get up there and see what kind of signals I can get with my new machine. And check this out! I thought it was a Condor token, or New Jersey copper at first being that it is the same size as a large copper....but even better! Civil War Dog Tags....Against Rebellion 1861. Using my ancient chinese cleaning secret she polished up pretty good. This is a very exciting find for...

Cellar hole hunt gives up a Rare find!!!
Got out for a quick cellar hole hunt...

Just a pull off the side of the road cellar..

Glad i scouted it as this site will require the small coil

There were bottles right on the ground and it was very trashy.. :-\

Stayed for about 15 minutes and pulled this little drum.. ;D

Not thinking anything i was not even going to post it.. :dontknow:

Then it hit me it may be Civil war related..Cellar was probably abandoned around 1880..

Put it in the what is it forum and Breezie was on top of it right away :icon_thumleft:
Its a rare Drummer's insignia or badge...

🥇 BANNER Depuity Sheriff Pin

Depuity Sheriff Pin
Well last Sunday 02/19/12 I was out hunting with Bilt36 and Mikewaz in the woods along The river, First time in about 6 months, it looked like a good spot ,very old neighborhood, and we have found older coins here before. So I started looking around, about a half hour out there I got a good hit at 9 inches, it was a little star with writing on it ,I thought it was maybe a charm for a necklace with someone’s name on it so I put it in my pocket and kept hunting . A little while later I found a Mercury dime, and when I met up with the guys I showed them my finds, and that is when I saw what I...
