🥇 BANNER Gold Coin.......

Gold Coin.......
This is how I found my second Gold Coin of the year:

Friday I found a Bishop Stortford 1667 token. This token sparked an interest by Shaun7 who lives quite near that place. He looked up a couple of farms in the area, gave them a ring, & the rest is history! THANKS SHAUN ;D

I was extremely lucky to find this, the field we tried are some of the hardest I have done! I was pleased with the Medieval Buckle.

Its a Gold Half Guinea 1777. Strange thing is that a few years ago Cru'dad had a Guinea of the same date - spooky!

Saint-Gaudens,Twenty.Dollars,new pics
I got out woods hunting this after noon and started a new area on the side of a hill.
It wasn't long and I got a 75 reading on the DFX and I'm thinking silver.
I started digging and I see leather so I widen the hole to be carefull.
The leather was two inches down and the lowest point of the leather was six inches.
I pulled at the leather pouch and it came out and the coins slide out on the dirt
and that's when I seen two gold coins laying on top of each other.
Man I finaly got gold and wasn't sure what they were untill I got home right after I showed MPfish

🥇 BANNER EXTREMELY RARE - HENRY I - NORMAN PENNY! - UPDATED - SCAN ADDED

EXTREMELY RARE - HENRY I - NORMAN PENNY! - UPDATED - SCAN ADDED
It doesn't get much rarer than this one!

Henry I
Circa 1119

Only 4 coins recorded at this mint. This is the ONLY 1 of this type at this mint.

This period was full of plated fakes, so they often turn up bent to test them or cut. Due to the broken coins & the fact some where rejected a decree was made that all coins were 'snicked' with a cut before they left the mint. Mine has this tiny snick.

What is amazing about this coin, other than the condition (its better in the hand) is the extra large flan which at a time of silver shortage would have made it very...

🥇 BANNER NC Civil War Officer buckle - My best find EVER!!!!

NC Civil War Officer buckle - My best find EVER!!!!
Folks, I'm still in shock and overjoyed! After work today I thought I'd get in a few hours of detecting since it was so nice out. I headed back to one of the yards I've been detecting, but never really gridded off thoroughly. Within about 20 minutes I had a strong signal in the front yard. I knew it was fairly big so I cut a decent sized plug. At about 5" deep, I reached in and pulled out one h-ll of a nice CW relic. I saw the "NC on the buckle right away and knew I had one piece of a two piece CW buckle. It is in fantastic condition too. I searched around a bit for the other half, but...

Confederate Navy Officers button (CSN) & The bloody Scarificator!!!

I scored a few pretty neat finds the last couple of days folks.
The first one is an early 1800's bloodletting tool called a "Scarificator", with emphasis on the "SCAR" part. Please check it out on my "what is it" post:

Yesterday I finished up the yard where I had found the 1864 double die IH about a week ago. Well, I was on my last section of the back yard and about ready to call it quits, when I dug a button. I threw it in my pouch...

🥇 BANNER Burgoynes Army, Royal Irish Artillery Battallion, Cartridge Box Sling Belt Tip

Burgoynes Army, Royal Irish Artillery Battallion, Cartridge Box Sling Belt Tip
Found in a Western Ma. town. (don't ask) From what I researched, ONLY 1 known to exist from Burgoynes Army. Besides being an Artillery relic, which was only 5 percent of the entire British Revolutionary War Army, I can also get the ID of the soldier it was issued to because of the "rack" or ID issue number of 53 on it! Have already called " Royal Artillery Regimental Museum" in Woolrich London, England. I was directed to call West Point, Library of Congress,(Smithsonian Libraries), or Battery Records of Royal Artillery- by Laws, to get muster rolls or payroll rcords to track this info...

1783 King George III "GEORGIVS" backwards "S" UPDATE ID 25-83A OMG!

Went exploring for new spots on Sunday with my brother-in law, DigginitRTB. You would never know this place was there, only 20-30 yds. off the main trail we walk on. We found a stone wall running approx. 100 yds. long along the side of the main trail and thought it was part of a close by foundation. Thought we would check it out anyway and Rich said he thought he found what was a cellar hole. Called me over and sure enough it was. Found a nice button, a trigger guard to an old musket, and this King George III...
