Clay Pot with Coins Inside!!!!!
Back to my pals old property and found had a signal close to this pot.
I had previously picked up lots of surface bottle finds so moved this out of the way to use the pinpointer - but the signal had gone ???

Looked inside and saw what turned out to be coins!!!!

Will try to clean these up a bit, the soil was packed quite hard inside.

Picture below show the pot (outside and inside) and the coins as found!:thumbsup...

🥇 BANNER 1693 HAMMERED SILVER - A PIRATES COIN! (Updated Below)

1693 HAMMERED SILVER - A PIRATES COIN! (Updated Below)
I found this small hammered silver coin two weeks ago at an early colonial-period site dating back to the mid-1600’s. Located near Newport, RI, this productive site has offered up an Oak Tree shilling, two Spanish cobs, numerous coppers, buttons, buckles, seal spoon fragments, etc. over the past several years. For finding early colonial-period finds, this site is like Disney World for detectorists.

I was using the new 11” coil on my XP Deus when I got a high-toned signal. It gave a slight but consistent tone, though my machine couldn’t put any numbers to it. I cut and flipped a deep...

🥇 BANNER My first Gold Coin using my AT Gold

My first Gold Coin using my AT Gold
Wow, just got home and I'm still in shock! For the past year my buddy (car91rs) and I have been hitting the old city dumpsite and have found some pretty good stuff, from old Mexican coins, of one which was silver to a 1951 Benjamin half dollar, 1943 Walking liberty, 1900 barb half dollar, and a hand full of merc dimes and buffalo nickels, but today.... I have to say my machine proved me wrong. I had traded my T2 Ltd for my AT Gold after it came in defective and was promised that they would give me a new one only for them to tell me they changed the motherboard instead, for a while I was...

🥇 BANNER Find of a LIFETIME! Wow!

Find of a LIFETIME! Wow!
I want to start by thanking Austin McCullough for his hosting me and Russ yesterday in Charleston...we hunted a spot of his and one of ours and came away with some real goodies...I'll take quality over quantity ANY day. So, I'll get right to it!

We were about to head out, Austin had already gone to the car and me and Russ were not far behind him...got one last choppy signal under a root. After digging around for a minute or two, I finally got the target out of the ground...my first reaction was all that work for a piece of scrap brass...picked it up and saw the hole, then the stamped...

BIG Overstamped French Colonial Silver 1691/1696, Worn Silver, Silver Spoon ETC!
Headed out today with the Patriot for a hunt, and it turned out pretty great! We first tried to get permission on a new area but there wasn't anyone around to get permission from - thankfully! We hit the bean field I got the spanish silver in last fall on Patriots gut feeling.
After a few hours of gridding and digging lots of odds and ends and small targets I got the small worn silver, it's about 17.5MM and has a right facing bust. A short while later I hit a solid 91 signal and dug the old pipe/valve, and than got another high 80s signal right next to it - I thought I was getting another...

🥇 BANNER Banner? Bannerstone yes :)

Banner? Bannerstone yes :)
Have found many broken ones but was not expecting this. We've had a lot rain and went out to a site that I've found archaic thru hopewell items on one half and this was washed out in gravel. Wasn't where I would have expected either. Was in an area where an old house site sat. I usually metal detect that area and had walked over to it to see if any marbles or bottle tops had washed out. Glad I did, next rain may have washed it into ditch.
