🥇 BANNER DOUBLE WASHINGTON INAUGURAL DAY

DOUBLE WASHINGTON INAUGURAL DAY
First of all.....WOW!

OKAY back on track! So a while ago, perhaps a week ago, I noticed that a field that has been very productive for us in the past had been plowed up and rained on. This field has given up many great finds, for me personally I have found an 1805 large cent, an 1820 capped bust dime (in amazing condition), my War of 1812 Massachusetts Artillery button, and my Washington inaugural button. I know of many other great finds that have come from here, but I don't want to take up the post with those finds :P

Fast forward to yesterday, I received a call from my cousin...

It's a little too early for champagne buuuuttt ...

Please join me in my excitement this morning as yesterday I dug a perfectly beautiful rare CSA Atlanta Arsenal style belt buckle! It was my first target of the afternoon and while I'm amazed at my find, I just happened to be at the right place at the right time. The first CSA buckle like this I had ever seen was a few months ago at the Middle Tennessee Metal Detecting Club meeting and our very own DMan Doug was the proud owner. This is the Atlanta Arsenal style CSA rectangle and was probably issued in Dalton, Georgia in 1863. My...

🥇 BANNER HOLY MOLY

HOLY MOLY
Wow. I finally found one of my bucket list Civil War relics, but I would have never expected to find this one. From the research I've done, it seems this is a pretty darn rare buckle/plate. It has N. O. on the bottom signifying New Orleans. If anyone knows anything about this one, please let me know. It's for sure a buckle with the Louisiana State Seal used by the 5th Washington Artillery Unit, which I believe is the oldest standing artillery unit in America to this day.

2 1/2 ounce MONSTER GOLD NUGGET !!
Was out relic hunting with my buddy Mark (49r Relics) and got a nice 39/40 on the CTX. From past experienced I knew it has a chance of being a gold nugget!! Got is all on video!!

What an amazing feeling popping out a huge chunk of gold like this. I know many of you are not gold hunters (at least not in nugget form) but gold this size is the Holy Grail of nugget hunting!! Amazing to see this surface for the first time and be the first person to ever touch it!! The Nugget Gods have been nice to Mark and me!!

Fan's Roman Site - Day 3 - CELTIC GOLD!!!

I love Mondays.:headbang:

Dad & I spent 5.5 hours gridding the limits of the site. As per norm, the Roman Artefacts often end up on the boundries:icon_scratch:
As we we gridding the gap between Fan's Site & the Metal Working area, I finally struck gold. We had a blank year last year for Celtic Gold but now I'm back on the board.
