From the Bronze Age until the Middle Ages
Recently, near a wooded heights, I've discovered traces of three overlapping historical periods :
a.) Middle Bronze Age period (XIV-XVI centuries B.C.) - A bronze deposit consists of a spearhead and a decorated disc-butted ax, which they were probably hidden by a Bronze Age warrior, and probably had ritual role. The objects were placed side by side and were discovered quite difficult and carefully to avoid damaging them, because they were covered half of their length by a deformed root of a beech. In Romania they were found very few such axes decorated. They were...

1700's gold broach, Kings American Dragoons Rosette and other great finds

Well managed to get the household chores done and got away detecting for a full day…most of the morning was a bust with some research that just didn't pan out, so we go to a good back up field that we wanted to try for some time now. The site started off great with first signal being this Brass Bridal Rosette from the King's American Dragoons, a Loyalist Calvary corp that formed in New York, 1781-1782. then finds were just random drops so we go to a great looking new site and I popped out...

Multiple GW Inaugural Buttons...Heraldic Eagle 6-point Estoile variety
I stopped a a location on my way down to Virginia. Sure glad I stopped at a spot a friend recommended. I dug these four buttons from a pounded field, all within 10' of one another. When I say there were no high signals in this place I mean none...pounded to death. Also there was fill everywhere besides on fertile strip between the two fill spots. All the finds came from there. These buttons showed up as 12-20/21/22, all of them. The other finds for the day was a big ol to bad button, a musketball, and some small buckles.

I posted them earlier on another post and found out they were GW's...

A Saxon Site - Day 6 - But started on 4 new fields - VERY RARE GALBA !!!
Yesterday Land-Mag kindly took me out for a 2 hour scout of 4 new fields (never tried). Our research had 1 of the 4 fields as a possible Roman Site. We called this field the No.1 Site, as it was the first we tried & I found a No.1 Shooting position Peg. There was quite a bit of Roman Pottery but no metal finds.:icon_scratch: We moved next door & found another site covered in pottery but I only had 1 Roman Coin. Finished the 2 hours with picture 1 (1 coin, 1 button, 1 thimble).
Cru'Dad & I returned this morning & after 40 minutes crossed off another of the fields with Cru'Dads Will III...

Always dreamt I would find one of these. After about an hour, at the first virgin hole in over a year, me and my brother in law had some luck. Hits were everywhere. A toasted Draped Bust LC, a 1848 LC, buttons and .....THE PRIZE! I knew right away what I had, just couldn't believe my eyes. As I flipped out and screamed to Rich to get over to me, he said....."Ya got silver?" Nope....."Ya got Gold?" Nope......BETTER!!! Then I noticed the 31. There were a lot of prisoners from the 31st taken at Saratoga. Looked...

🥇 BANNER CLOVIS! My Oldest Find EVER!

CLOVIS! My Oldest Find EVER!
Two days later and I'm still just as giddy as when I found this.

Monday after work I decided to take a little drive down to Massachusetts to a colonial farm site along the Connecticut River where I have had some luck with my detector. After swinging the coil for a while in a lower field and only turing up a few flat buttons, I decided to try my luck in the upper field which had recently been turned over. The soil was really dry and the dust was awful. Disgruntled, I figured I would do one more pass hoping to dig at least one good keeper for the day...
