🥇 BANNER CS plate, that WAS a lucky charm!

CS plate, that WAS a lucky charm!
Some of you may have seen my post yesterday on the lucky token and decorative mystery object I dug so the title of this thread will make perfect sense. This afternoon we went out to hunt a site that really didn't hold a ton of promise but it was a site I had asked permission to hunt which made my find even more special as my better half is usually the one who does major research for me to just show up with a smile and my Minelab 505 X-Terra ready to dig. I had dug three or four not so good signals and pulled out trashy pot metal and iron what's-it's, thinking we had one of our usual...

🥇 BANNER Medieval GOLD finger ring .

Medieval GOLD finger ring .
Found on my new permission of 800 acres . on the last remaining stubble of the year - l was just thinking that the field l was on was a bit of a washout, and the very next signal at only six inches deep and remarkably in perfect condition for something that fragile and around 600 years old..
Shining in the sunlight. A beutiful gold finger ring .... Hutch.:icon_thumleft:

🥇 BANNER Exceedingly rare Caribbean Countermarked Silver Coin Found (1 of 3 known)!

Exceedingly rare Caribbean Countermarked Silver Coin Found (1 of 3 known)!
I've been fortunate during the month of March and been able to get out metal detecting at my new spot one day each week. In fact last week I was able to get out twice! This new area is close to where I found many French war buttons a few years back. In my last post I had finally dug a cuff 18 (Gatanois regiment) This was a number I had never dug before. Well last week I found myself my second one! This one was practically lying on TOP of the ground ....just under the leaves! It turned out to be a beautiful cuff 8 (Bearn regiment). Although I did find a coat 8 in 2012, I had never...

🥇 BANNER Paid for the new detector on the first day!

Paid for the new detector on the first day!
Excited enough I need a tranquilizer. I just got a new to me but used Tesoro Tejon. It was priced right so I said what the heck. I went to my new permission and figured out which end to blow on, har har har. Anyway, it's a Civil War 1864 site in Virginia. Switched loops, put the big loop on it and started beating bushes. Wasn't getting much, I mean like NO signals. So By the end of the day I had tried several different strategies. First was just wander around in the woods. Got a couple pieces of iron from ration cans and some nails. This time I did NOT trip over the wire fence...

What a day...some unique finds including 1600's to civil war (confederate brass!)

On thursday evening I finally got an in at a site that I have been hoping to get on for quite some time now. Confirmed on Friday and provided literally the keys to the gates and on Saturday Bill D and I ran out to check it out. First though I have a little catch up. The previous weekend, I managed to get out for a short and snowy return visit to the site that let Bill and I down a few weeks ago. I spent 4 or 5 hours walking some new and old fields and while I managed a hand full of buttons and...

1656 POTOSI COB, TRAPEZOIDAL BUCKLE, BLOWHOLE BUTTON, EARLY STUD CHAPE, LEAD...
I was able to get out the past two days to detect at two different early sites. The first site was in winter wheat so I was only able to detect a part of the field where they had recently staged some logging trucks but it turned out that that part of the field was in close proximity to an old house site. I was able to pull some early and cool looking buckle pieces as well as an early stud chape part of a buckle which is my first.
Today I hit an old site and was able to pull a whole trapezoidal buckle, a blowhole buckle and my first cob for the year!! I was beginning to think I was going...

🥇 BANNER 1837 SLAVE TAG & Rev War PEWTER!

1837 SLAVE TAG & Rev War PEWTER!
Hey guys,

Been overseas for 2 weeks and have been itching to get back to the lowcountry and knock the dust of the CTX. While I would have been perfectly happy to walk away with a flat button, I could never have predicted a night like this. This particular site has proven to be a great spot to meet other diggers on TNet. Over the course of the last month, we have had multiple group hunts with amazing success. Affectionately known as the watermelon patch, the dirt is packed with 300 years of history and continues to produce. The evening started out as most do, surface pottery, glass...

🥇 BANNER A TSAR of a ring...

A TSAR of a ring...
Four gold and a platinum in one day....:headbang: I don't post my finds very often, but I have not had a day like this for a long time!

The Russian ring ( I think) is marked 583 without the hammer and sickle. The craftsmanship on this ring is amazing it has 26 small diamonds? around the top and 1 in each of the double headed eagles claws.
It would appear that it is two rings soldered together as you can see through the scrolling.
Platinum is 999 a first for me I have found 950 and 900.
One of the other three gold rings is marked 916 (22K) The others have Asian marks on them.
All found...
