🥇 BANNER 1796 Draped Bust Dime

1796 Draped Bust Dime
I haven't posted here in awhile but I had to share this find. I finally found my first 1700's US silver coin and it's all I could have ever hoped for and more. It's a 1796 Draped Bust Dime JR-6 variety with visible die crack through the date. I found it yesterday, about 4-5" down at the edge of a corn field. As soon as I saw it I knew I had something special.

🥇 BANNER A Rare Find - 17th Century Pewter Pipe - Native American & Handmade

A Rare Find - 17th Century Pewter Pipe - Native American & Handmade
A recent search of the woods has me reconsidering my preference for searching open fields. I had been scouting for a potential cellar hole but only located the ruins of a barn. Over an hour of searching produced two plain buttons and a more satisfying recovery, an ornate horse bridle rosette of pewter and brass (possibly dating early to mid-1800s). Here’s the rosette.

I widened my search area to hopefully locate the house foundation but only came upon another barn site with old trash scattered about the brush. Retreating back to the first...

🥇 BANNER Cache containing 8 reale!!!

Cache containing 8 reale!!!
I am still in shock. Never would I believe something like this would happen to me. Did a late evening hunt with a friend from Tnet which only lasted about 45 min. As you can see I only found a mini ball and flat button until I came upon this cache. We both were speechless, good thing she decided to video tonights dig. This is the second cache of coins found on this property mixed in with all the civil war relics. First spill was nothing like this, maybe 10 coins. So walking along the woods edge of a corn field I got this ear blowing signal, pinpointed about 3 ft long but narrow I almost...

🥇 BANNER BUCKET LIST! 1714 Spanish 8 reales colonial silver dollar coin!

BUCKET LIST! 1714 Spanish 8 reales colonial silver dollar coin!
1st off, apologies for breaking the rules and blowing up last year. Haven't posted since that ordeal. Was embarrassed more than anything and stayed away. Hope those affected can find it in their hearts to forgive my silly antics.

Well, finds have been good and I managed a cut silver or copper colonial coin for each of the previous 4 metal detecting trips, but todays find is really special for me so gotta post it up.

Today my wife and I thought we could squeeze in one more day of colonial hunting before the season ends. Farmers are working hard and planting has begun. It was hot w/ little...

🥇 BANNER Flowing Hair Half Dime -- Off the fantasy bucket list - With video

Flowing Hair Half Dime -- Off the fantasy bucket list - With video
Hi T-net friends.

On Saturday I found a coin that no one expects to dig. 1795 Flowing Hair half dime.

Go easy on me folks--I did kiss this coin with my shovel. It was in the ground at 90 degrees, about 6 inches, and was surrounded by flaky targets making it very difficult to pinpoint.

I know a lot of you folks are vocal about not liking videos on the forum or not trusting links, but I assure you this is a safe link and the video is incredible. Very emotional find for me.

I was using a Fisher F75Ltd and operating in De mode (which I rarely...

🥇 BANNER Romano/Celtic dagger Cross Guard 1st C BC - 1st C AD

Romano/Celtic dagger Cross Guard 1st C BC - 1st C AD
Thought I'd share this dagger cross guard I found while detecting in woodland, pleased to have had it identified and dated by members on this forum

It was buried at about 6" no sign of any blade unfortunately, I'm guessing that must have rusted away over the years

Now correctly identified as Cheek piece toggle although more recently modern research, from their occurrence in chariot burials, suggests that their use may have been with the chariots themselves

🥇 BANNER Ultra Rare Confederate Button just found - John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln Associations

Ultra Rare Confederate Button just found - John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln Associations
It's going to be hard to figure out where to start on this one. Keep reading, this is awesome. I was digging a park yesterday, watching the folks walk their dogs, and the kids playing on the swing sets and after about the 50th dig, with about 25 coins, including 2 wheaties and a buffalo I got bored. So I decided to go aways' north to a farm I have detected before, that does have some old stuff on it. It has been pounded, mainly by me, but I decided to hit a few harder to get to spots. Which proved wise. I walked 5 feet from the car, and balanced the machine. Walked six steps and...

Civil war dog tag. Are you kidding me?!!!!!!
I decided to go digging at lunch time today and went to one of our local parks that was opened in 1914. We have pulled many silver coins and cool relics from this park but never in a million years did I think I would find a civil war dog tag!!!!

I had a good signal and was thinking half dollar

Duh the hole and out pops a big disc. I was thinking large cent as soon as

Being the curious person I am I started cleaning it in the field. Was confused when I see 1861 and a shield. I didn't know what it was so immediately started looking online...

🥇 BANNER Roman Hoarde found 300+ Coins and counting

Roman Hoarde found 300+ Coins and counting
With my last post http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/533136-couple-nice-roman-coins.html the story started.
We detected around a large Roman settlement to get what's left after years of detecting the site. We were out on a neighboring field gridding a loose pattern hoping for a hotspot somewhere between the scatter of broken roof tiles. My buddy started at one end of the field, i started where the scatter of tiles ended towards him. At one point he called over with a coin. About a minute later he had two more and i started digging coins also. We realized soon the...
