Hi Guys,

Looks like your making a killing this summer compared to what you said you did last year. I'd have to say that your finally starting to hit the edges of the area that you and Scotty-Lee were looking for as it seems that you're steadily increasing the number of coins found everytime you blow a hole and search it.

Best of Luck and keep the photos coming,

Don

Hi Don
Yes things are going better this year. You were there the first day we started reaching into the right area and getting great results. The last day we were out, we lost a transmission ten minutes into the first hole. We decided to stay and blow with one engine and the results were excellent, over twenty coins.
ScottyLee and I pulled the tranny on Sunday, mostly ScottyLee, and he was able to figure out that we had broke the pressure plate between the engine and transmission. Monday he ordered the parts and we had them Tuesday morning and we had it running Tuesday night for less than three hundred dollars.
What a relief, I thought I might be buying a new tranny which is probably more than a years worth of fuel money. I do believe this man can fix anything.
By wednesday afternoon he had it all cleaned back up and tested for a couple hours.
Of course by then the weather had turned bad and we have not been back out since.
ScottyLee is leaving today on his 65 foot liveaboard diveboat with his kids for a well deserved vacation in the Bahamas.

I was just discussing doing this with my dad earlier today. I'd love to come down and participate on one of your trips. Just let me know how I can do it! I live in Kentucky, and I'm willing to get my scuba diving license in order to do this. Any details would be great!
Thank-you

Hello Seahunter,
Looks like you are doing well this season. I am ready to make plans to come down and help you out. I could make it down just about any time. I just need to plan to be off from work. I am glad to hear you were able to get your trans fixed.

Good Luck. Hope to see you soon.

Lee

Well I finally got back out with ScottyLee, Brady and Doug. They have been out for the last week or so while I have been working. We just brought three more up out of the last hole and we are blowing another one. I think this brings us up to about 150 since the beginning of June. I will post some pictures tonight.

unbelievable! so much thanks for posting! i will be down real soon! real soon! ben!

i have decided to remain in this part of the country!
(Tx. Gulf Coast +)
I have made too many of those 1200 miles, (2400 rd trip) trips out west!
I am thinking of getting back into u/w salvage, diving, etc !
As you may know, I am free to, and I do, TH'ing FULL TIME!
Due to a "lucky find" (researched) in Tampa Bay, yrs ago!
I thought, that a yr or so over, there (in Fla.) would get me back into diving shape !

Also!
Bring back the experience(s) of U/W working!
I am sure that I have forgotten a few techniques, and things have changed over the yrs!
IE:
Both of my "Regulators" are double hose ...
Some people think that's outdated ???
BUT!
I, definitely gotta get rid of those "Steel Tanks"! :P
Also,
Prepare me,
For some strenuous "Free Lance Diving" later on!

Hi...

I'm new to all this and was wondering "Do you ever find any artifacts and if so, like what?"

Are there really high valuable treasures out there? Especially that close to shore?

Can on make a living doing this?

Tanks for any replys.

crabface:
If you start with a bit (a lot of capital) spend a lot of time looking, and get lucky enough to find the right spot, then give more than half of it away, then pay other miscellaneous bills. Yes you can buy that Big Mac you always wanted. ;D

what about those two rocks shaped like a rectangle from the angle we see it? looks like it was man made to have that shape???
malady

greats finds, keep it up, there is more!

yup! you beat me too the ? and the next question air bags to move them or a winch from above. there are no stupid ?s! "right"!. thanks for taking the time!

Hello
The rocks are not concrete and we have been moving the ones that are loose by hand with large pry bars. Sometimes the square ones are part of the bedrock and sometimes they are loose.

Dell
What would it mean if they were granite and how can you tell if it is granite?

Crabface
Sometimes we do find artifacts, but not very often. I think we may have found a bosuns whistle yesterday. Mostly we just find coins, about 175 in the last six weeks and close to 285 in the last year. The coins are getting much better as we dig in the deeper sand but it isn't cheap with fuel costing about $250 a day.
