WHO WANTS TO DIVE FOR TREASURE

It would appear that there is more than one wreck at this location. The one carrying the slabs is much later like in the 1840's or even later than that.
I also think that if you were remove theses slabs there is some interesting objects under them.
I know they appear to be very heavy but maybe you can move them to a clean area OR recover them and there IS a market.

For what I gather you are using only a "blower(s)" to uncover the coins, etc?
Have you considered using a "Lift", ie: "u/w dredge", instead?
That would still use gasoline power, but, around, the 5 hp+ range,
That's
Nowhere in the range of expense of those diesel engines, with all their expenses, gallons used !

Please look closely to the object in the first photo. The white object that appears to be man made standing upright.
This could be a statureand worth a closer look.
The also appears to be s Brick object to the left and behind the diver-actually it is to the right of the diver.
I also see something that appears to be a piece of pottery to the left side and a little behind one of the divers.
It could be a shell but I do not think so. It is to perfect as to its shape to be a shell but what do I know.
I find that MOST Treasure Hunters look for Gold and Silver and miss a lot of other items that are worth more than a few coins.
I am not saying that this is the case here so don't jump my case.
This is just my opinion and this is what I see in the photos.

Hi Cptbil
We actually have a pump on board and and the equipment for a water powered dredge. I am glad you mentioned it because we need to try it out. It sure could save a lot of fuel.

Pegleg
You are right, it sure does look a lot like statue but it is actually coral. We are constantly looking for artifacts and if you look in the picture with all the coins you will see a white object about eight inches long and one inch in diameter. I am not sure what it is made out of, perhaps ivory, bone or shell, but right in the middle is what appears to be a man made groove in it. We also found a tool made out of shell that will fit perfectly in your hand and at the top is sharp enough to filet a fish and maybe even shave your beard. And of course we are always looking for ballast stones and starting to find quite a few. I will be bringing it all to the expo to display.

SEAHUNTER,That is great my friend.
Here is another little thought.
What if you had a underwater camera that was attached to the top of a diver and attached to a monitor on the boat. This would give you a REAL TIME video of what is there as far as artifacts are concerned.
Do you have any idea what the brick looking object is?
The photos are very very good.

Seahunter:
I know that I have seen my 2' nozzle around, for the small dredge..
But!
i haven't seen the 4" around for a while!
As far as the hoses are concerned....they disappeared, I believe their're all in So. Ca. somewhere!
Like most of my gear, it's spread all over the country!
I used to have the "basket/strainer" hanging, back behind the nozzle, at about 20 foot or so!
That way it was easy to inspect and check the "finds" !

Peg leg the "brick" object is a piece of clay. There have been lots of it in the holes we have been blowing in this area.

Scotty Lee,
Could these clay bricks have been part of the cooking stove on the ship.
If it was/is then one must figure out where the Galley was located and then compute from here to where the items being shipped were stored. This would give you some idea where the Mother Lode maybe located.
Just my thinking.

We are back out at it and found two coins and had some visitors by land and sea. Rodney Jones joined us again and we are enjoying beautiful calm clear water. Here are some pictures:

ScottyLee.
I would like to do some testing on a block of this material.
I think that I may know a little something about this material or I know someone who does.
If possible the next time out couls you pick up a block and bring it to the EXPO.
Thanks
Peg

ScottyLee,
I would venture to guess that according to what you said about this CLAY being all over the place that it stands to reason that it was being transported and this would mean that this material would appear on a ships manifest and when you find the ship that was carrying this clay you will then know the ship you are working.
Peg

Scott, I am glad to see you are having lots of luck. I am looking forward to getting down there.

Lee

cool pics. Hey question... How deep are you guys diving?? Just curious. I see the continuous air lines, and no suits for the most part. Water must be nice... Much better than the 30 degree dry-suit crap I get here in Minnesota... Very cool digs.

In the past week the deepest hole we have been in is thirty feet. Here is an aerial view.
