I put in my share of working nights for years......
It is not worth the premium. Or breaking the circadian rhythm.
Being sleep deprived was pretty much the norm. And often no sleep on a day off. (Better to work seven days than break the nap cycle again.)
A darkened room helps. Good luck with quiet in a society that has quiet time when you are awake instead. Laws even requiring reasonable quiet. L.o.l..
Get out of work and people want to feed you eggs for dinner.
I recall beer sales in stores not being allowed early in the morning at one time.
Thank goodness there was a bar I could ride my motorbike too on nice days and toast the sunrise with a beer ,and burrito sometimes.
It was work though. I took the money.
Hang in there third year. Try to get some sunlight in your eyes if you wake up before sundown to start your day. A little early , but that or certain type lights can help adjust your rhythm. Maybe.
I been divorced twice. Night shifts may not have contributed. Or maybe they did.
I was on nights the last time...It's another kind of life.
