Yes, indeed. Outside of Orlando, the rest of Florida is NOT Disneyworld.
I was driving to Gainesville on 441(yes, the 441 from Petty's AMERICAN GIRL) and as I approached Paynes Prairie, I saw several cars stopped in the side of the road. As I passed. I saw that several adults and children were throwing popcorn at a 10 foot alligator who was sunning in the grass at the side of the road.
I stopped, and approached them, noticing the Michigan license plates, and a 12yo boy standing 2 feet from the gator, aiming popcorn at its head.
I told them they needed to stop that and back away from the gator, explaining it could outrun anyone of them in the short distance to their car.
It was them the father said," Are you saying that is not a tame alligator"?

What's the number of that toll road close to Orlando? We took it one time doing a job down there.

The Florida Turnpike, but Orlando/Orange County have several shorter toll roads in the Metro area.
PS: Driving in the area now with all the on going road construction is a nightmare!

Hi folks

AARC invited me to join this thread, so just saying hello from a (rather damp) UK. Some areas are expecting a month's worth of rain today and there are already more than 300 flood warnings in place. Fortunately I live on top of a hill but I'm thinking about building an Ark, so any tips and hints would be great. Obviously I'm on a completely different time-zone to most of you. Just so's you know, it's 4 o'clock in the afternoon here.
