Hey ECS, we had to belong to a union or organization when we played someone else's music. I remember it was three letters, but I can't remember the first 2. I believe the third was an "I" ? I know I still have my card somewhere in a box in my study as I saw it back in the late 90's. Can you refresh my memory on what it was ?

My mom was a member, back in the day Ronald Reagan was the president for a term.

Which became,..... SAG "Screen Actors Guild"

Some states are strong union states, especially the music recording centers of NYC, LA, and Nashville, and the AFM is all about making sure musicians get paid for their work.
Florida is a right to work state, and clubs and bars have been known to default of contracted payments.
ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC collect payment for songwriters and publishers from venues where their copyrighted songs are covered by local bands, or used in movies, or if the songwriter performs them live, and of course TV and radio airplay.

Got some fresh asparagus which will be a side with our eggplant meatballs....yep you read that right.....

We're trying to go more vegetarian and go lighter on the meat.

In any event will be roasting up the asparagus in the oven.

This morning I stopped for a coffee,.... some young guy rolls up on a bike and ask me for a dollar,....
I look at him and say, "I have been working since I'm 10 years old, why don't you have a job?"

He says, "I have been looking for a job for 10 years"

I say, "That's impossible,... there has never been more jobs than there are right now"

He says, "They do drug testing"

So I say, "so you have money for drugs, but you can't find a job to pay for them"


So I call him a lazy piece of human garbage,.... but I add,... "no offence".
