It's all good.
And you're way ahead of me.
I did see the old crude chisel (?) on the shed floor the other day while on an Easter egg hunt for something else. Of course I forgot to bring it in.

I put in so much effort and not a lot to show for it. Still waiting for a significant find. Maybe won't be in my cards but I won't stop trying

You probably tossed at least two away by now.
:laughing7:
Lol possibly. On a local California forum I'm talking to a few people in my area that say they hike like 5 miles out to find the good sites. I'm like welp I'm screwed I don't drive. Telling me all the good stuff they find at those old sites way out there

The height of the bar is directly related to the level of the rum in the bottle...
Too much rum and you'll be on the floor of the bar. :angel12: 🥴

I put a new setting(s)on the Deus ll, had a few minutes before it started to rain.
I went to the field entrance iron patch.
Where I got the fish scale the other day.
Not caring for the new setting, so I went back to my custom program.
Walked up the slope behind the rock on the top.
55 on the Deus, not a favorite # was thinking foil/beer cap even. Then I convinced myself that it might be thin brass.
Yup, it was just that.
Keeper for a quick damp hunt.

Excellent work Peps, gotta love a quickie! xx 😆

Well I can feel the spanish calling me.....I've got 2 more spanish salvage camps to find. My recent boat adventures have let me get right up on the shore lines where the rafts of survivors and treasure came ashore. The prospects are real, and I have one narrowed to a one mile shore line, and im right on top of the other with my film project. I'll have to get some permissions, and do more ground work, but im close to the camp im certain !! I think one person in the 70s found one of them, and got some cached coins. He's been long gone, and many hurricanes have camouflaged his site. I may start on Sunday with the slow grind of tracking down this site. Some small article was written along time ago, and that rarely accessed info had the only real clue. If I really have it narrowed down to a mile, then it will only be a matter of time before I make a find. This camp would have been used by the almiranta of the fleet to store the kings treasure, + much smuggled treasure. Remember.....they salvaged 14-20 million pesos worth of treasure !! There was only supposed to be 12 million on these ships according to manifests !! Estimated treasure lost at sea, smuggled, cached, and forgotten is 4-10 million more. More coins are starting to show up at my old cache site, and someone else got at least a 4 reale at my old site in August. I was able to watch the recovery, and im pretty sure this person has had my help here at t-net. I've led several of the many folks who PM me to coin finds, and I get quite a bit of people asking for help. It's time to get on the next treasure spot !! Conditions are absolutely perfect for hunting. King tides are working for me !! Time to transition to winter time hunts !!

Another intersting find came at my cuban sand bar......there is 18th century wreck material here, and I found a conglomerate immediately......and then a small ships spike.....not sure if it's 1733, but it could be from the local place names and slang associated with what I call the cuban sand bar !! Ill need tanks and a new wetsuit this winter !!

No one ever went after the sight of the Balandra.....I've found the first bits of evidence for this site this summer.....I dug up some planks with beautiful spikes in them close inshore to the site. The untold story of this ship is interesting.....the ship was torn down and the wood was used to build a fortification on land to house the salvegers, survivors, and salvaged treasure. The 256 barrels of flour were being shipped to the garrison at st. Augustin, and ended up sustaining the survivors of the disaster. There should be ballast and pottery at the least around the site. Ill search for this evidence this winter on the clear calm days.....I would like to be the first to find this spot !!

Not funny! Not funny! It’s one of the worst lessons to learn in this hobby. It’s there, but then it’s gone!

I keep telling and telling. These things we find? Do not *want* to be found! They will do anything to rejoin the lost!

You don't drive? Well you are missing out.... Missing out on 5+ dollar a gallon gas, maintenance, wear and tear on your vehicle. .... :laughing7:
