Looks/sounds like you are smart to use a magnet first. Dang, some of those pieces are cool looking!

Simply go to a park, and just start to apply the technique.
It's highly recommended that you don't try this in any dog parks.
There's a couple of obvious reasons.
The competition has a lot of advantages over the untrained.
Second if you happen to run the nose into a fresh drop, you'll likely have some difficulty continuing with your newly tested skills.

Nope....sorry.... I can no longer smell anything! You'd have to do any proving. 🤷‍♂️

But speaking of smelling, I simply allow the Lord to move my feet to where HE wants me to go. I find soooooo much more that way. 😊

3 quick site visits musket ball at the first.
2nd nothing, not sure even if I was at the right spot.
3rd site took a bit to find. Well he showed me, but the foundation rock was pushed into the bush. Probably the finds too, by the look of the dirt pile.
Turned out it was the barn, as the house was further up the field.
Was late then, got a couple of keepers.
