I hate to ask a dumb question, but why do folks post good morning and good night here? I’ve not been on any other forum that did that. It’s just different and I wondered if there was a particular reason, or are people just being friendly?

Well it use to be like the Walton's house of good mornings and good nights.
Then it was shortened to a general good morning to the chat and the pirates that hang out here. Friendly, not a serious affair, not everyone does it.
Just a habit of being on the chat. Not a requirement, nor a frowned upon either.
Some hate it (folks looking in the window) but to the folks that hang here it's a sense of being on the ship with others that have around for a good amount of years.
This ship has been floating for 4 yrs now, I believe it's the 3 generation of Random Chat ships-the ships birthday was 11 days ago-hope you didn't miss the free hand outs and the rum.

I enjoy everyone's good mornings and it is one of the reasons I follow this thread. I leave in the dark at 5:30 so it's nice to see everyone in here stirring around like me. I also like the broad variety of interests here too.

I was thinking something along those lines myself the other day. We all have different “treasure interests.” Some overlap. Some don’t. Yet we all get along fairly well on this ship. Let’s hope MSM doesn’t catch wind of our piratey adventures! 😉😂
