Start at the bottom. Like the bank.
Document and retain evidence of the chain of events.
Make up a generic contact form. Date , time. Whom contacted. Subject. Results.
Use a seperate/new form for each contact.
From bank go to I.R.S. if that is who contacted you about a discrepancy.
Your state representative may be a conduit /liaison to work with between state and federal offices. If approached respectfully and graciously.
A friend and I found his rep. very helpful and instrumental in changing disabled regulations for clarity. Due to the networking available through channels.

Same with your brother.
Start at the bottom locally. (His locale if seperate from yours.)

Declaring no one cares is not what anyone with the ability to do anything about him (if proven he is a liability) wants to hear.
How do we know who is aware of him and what is being done?
Then to , unproven hearsay is not going to spur the sheriff into investigating something or someone. Be fair about that and give sound reason (with evidence beyond seeming like a swatter for all a sheriff would know) for seeking the sheriffs ear on the matter.

If you were sheriff and approached with what you have written about your brother ; is it enough to begin building a study into the matter?
And should the sheriff consider your own credibility? Again , be fair about it.
Lots of things going on that need attention.
Solid cases can see better priorities.

Legal advice should be from an attorney familier with the type case involved.
And any respectable attorney will defer to /recommend someone else if it is not the type case they are familier with.
I'd not go to court without one in my corner. Despite my couple success's only having one helped anchor. It is leverage of a sort , but knowledge of law pertaining to a given case is where it is at.

Life is not fair. Yep , I've heard that from an attorney before.
So I've sought those familier with the laws pertaining to my fights.

Do know the costs going in.
One attorney of major help has never charged me a dime.
He's received a bottle of my best homebrewed wine. And been complimented on his being a sterling example of the potential immigrants have here.
In his case , an asset to many.

Others have wanted consultation fees.
Others a retainer.
Others other terms.

Meaning , have a solid case for efficiency. That is on you.
Time is money. So is losing. Or even winning.
Do you want to go to court against your brother? Then be prepared to be committed to being there when told to be. Repeatedly. And with changes , delays cancellations ect. tossed in for good measure. And to incur expenses.

If you are not prepared to do so , and have established a solid proven case ; is it fair to expect someone else to instead?

Don't say it's someone else's job. Not when they have no proven case and there are plenty of other citizens claiming insult without proven cases also.
How many complaints with little substance (proof) could you or I look into in a days work?
And is that a productive use of our time when our task is to keep the peace and enforce laws pertaining to such? Along with all other laws. And whatever comes up in the meantime demanding response.
What I was trying to convey is the FTC directed me to make police reports at the local, county and state levels.

I have NOT been able to complete this because they hand me a card and tell me that they will set up a time and they never call or respond to my calls.
It has been over 18 months since I first tried to file a report.
Certainly I should have received a call by now ?

All that other stuff I have done already.
Aside from a lawyer.
No money.
Been without a ride since I posted last.
Finally got the red convertible towed into the shop yesterday.
I'm not hopefull on that repair.
It looks like the brake lines and shock tower rusted through.
Can't afford that.

RC, thanks for all your time.

I am happy to say that I managed to fix the push mower!
Gotta get the jungle down lol.
I went up the ladder!
Got the ugly tarp off the house.
Ran out of foam before it fully sealed.

Thanks RC on the confidence building.
Well congrats on getting up the ladder, and you're still here.
Sometimes that inner fear is just built up like a mountain, but the actual fact an ant hill is warranted.
So now the mower is fixed, tarp off, roof almost sealed up.
What's on the list of needs to do?

Know the saying, loose lips sink ships ?
Did it to myself heh.
I mentioned that the neighbors chickens had been coming over to my place to free range because of his dog.
They nested and over two weeks left 32 beautiful eggs in our yard.
Being the person I am, I took a dozen of the biggest eggs over to him.
He said keep em.
He's not let the chickens free range since that day.

The price of kindness.
NEVER wear your heart on your sleeve... They'll trample it!

I would of let them just go broody, and that would have had the makings of one own's flock, and food.

The Well should be my first priority, but the fear of failure is so strong that I have been avoiding trying simply because I don't understand any of it.
I've tried watching videos, but I still can't get my mind around it.
The bigger priority should be the house itself.
The tornado made the house fall off its foundation.
Wrecked the slabs and tore out the anchors.
We managed to get it back up, but its not level or anchored.
I hired a man and paid him 500 to put it back up and level and he quit mid-job and split.
Yes...I was stupid and paid up front.

I really need to find some help with the tornado damaged trees threatening the house.
The last week the lower peninsula has been rocked by some serious storms and some serious winds.
Three more trees partially uprooted near the house in the last couple of days with random dustnados ripping through the area.
The apple tree that my dad planted for my mom when they bought this place, nearly fully uprooted yesterday.
I have it tied up.
I risked blowing that rod through the block so a could try to pull it back up.
I used a mobile home earth anchor to try to tie it upright.
Its at a strong angle.

Those are my pressing concerns.
I have about 600 cord of blown down trees.
With gas and everything else going crazy $$
That firewood is becoming a super asset!
Propane projections for the coming heating season$$
Fuel oil..pfft$$$$$

Best of luck to you in the future Bart!
You're living a life most only dream of.
Prayers for you.

Good morning pirates.

Zakon glad you survived the ladder and have been working on your honey do list. You of all tnetters know that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. What you say you were on, your 240th chance? Be a squeaky wheel with the authority you had to file with. 18 months is too long. Especially if you are living on borrowed time. You also might look into a local Ombudsman. Maybe they will fight for you.
