3rd Mate Crash, you blaspheme against one of the great fishes of the sea. Catfish??? A landlubbers fish. Have you forgotten the oath you swore to our most able Cap'n and the crew when you signed on?? It appears perhaps you jest or have drifted away on the sea of betrayal.
Swore? Yes I did a lot of swearing the day I was shanghaied aboard that noble craft and was made to sign an unworthy contract. I still swear every time I remember that dreary day. I swear when presented with unworthy sea borne fish too.In fact I swear just for the hell of it sometimes. I do not jest,I am a man of the inland rivers, the mighty Mississippi, where even those who sail the briny fear to unfurl their sails and the catfish is the king of the table. The many tributaries of that noble stream, the Arkansas,Tennessee.Missouri,White Rivers present their own challenges, yet the catfish reigns supreme there too.PFFFFFFIIIITTTT,to those salty denizens! But I,ll take a large platter of fried, breaded shrimp, thank you very much!:laughing7:

They got you to sign that contract? Hahahaha. Read all the fine print on back, mate. They are paying you in Zimbabwe dollars. Hahahaha.
WAIT A BLASTED MINUTE! There was fine print inside oh the fine print! I have been shanghaied again! That Cap'n Arc is quite the trickster. Oh well, it is still better than my last sailing.

Nay,nay I say! I was plied with rum and ladies of questionable virtue at that den of iniquity New Orleans. On a voyage to the mouth of the Mississippi it was when I was waylaid and made to sign that document of rosy promises never to be brought to fruition. At the first opportunity I absconded at the port of Tampa Bay,reputed to be the Captain,s headquarters and made my way by hook and crook back to that noble father of waters where I remain to this day. No sea and it,s inferior fish for me.

You are still my mate and I am loyal to you even though I fail to understand you preference for the inland waterways. Variety adds spice to our ship of life.

I understand, and I bet it hurts to get waylaided. I hope they were gentle with you. You are still my mate and I stand with you. But if there us any more waylaiding, you are on your own brother.

Not to worry! Rum and ladies of questionable virtue no longer hold the attraction for me that they once did.The Mighty Mississippi and the dangerous and treacherous but beautiful Arkanasas and White Rivers are my haunts now.I no longer voyage down to the Mouth of the Mighty River at New Orleans. Alas,my journeys are local now.A 12 Gauge Shotgun and 00 buck insures against any possible Shanghai attempts. I,ll still drive to Biloxi for Fried,Breaded shrimp though.

You are just an old pirate.

The Grandfather's clock
Back in 1977 I was lay'd up with the paw, and had a lot of time on the mind.
So I got to taking off all the porch paint that was on the old clock.
Looked pretty plain actually no real design at all.
I counted 20 coats by the time I got it off.

Then came the job of picking all the pitch the had filled the wood engraving.
This old clock had seen better days the works were so black, greasy from the decades of Kitchen's heat, grease, the wood stove just a few feet away.

I got all cleaned up except for the actual face, stencil on the glass was redone.
I dug it out of the storage yesterday, as it's been there probably now for a decade, and it just needs some love shown to it once again.

I throw myself on the mercy of the court, and the soft bosoms of ladies of questionable virtue.I plead guilty as charged,so long as there,s catfish and a platter of fried, breaded shrimp to be found at the end of my long journey.
Here is your future.

Nice.

Avast ye! All I got was the promise of rum, which was never delivered. I always has to sneak into the rum room and help me self, er, I mean, I have to sweep it out. No ladies! I have been hornswaggled by that son of a biscuit!

Do not blame the Cap'n. I was there when he gave the rum to pepper and crash to deliver to you. 7 cases.

Very nice clock pepper! Good job there! Since today seems to be a day of mirth,I once knew a girl who was so ugly she could top an 8 day clock!!!
