Dave, Nice job on the tree. We used to put up a tree every year, however, if you think dogs are a problem you should see cats climb up a tree and destroy the decorations....

Good morning all, hoping you all have a wonderful day. Wasn't around yesterday because it was a busy day. San Francisco was a bit of a disappointment. Got to see Alcatraz which was an alright experience. While after that was eh ended up doing nothing more because parking was impossible and had enough after some weird guy came up to my window of the car as we were at a light and I didn't take too kindly to that. Ended up having more fun stopping at another bigger town and checking at their BevMo and other stores that were much bigger than my small towns.

Thanks for the update on your trip John. We visited Alcatraz Prison as well, so much history on such a small island. I loved looking into one of the offices and seeing the old Coke cooler, reminded me of the one at our corner store when I was a kid.

I'm not a fan of big cities either. Most of California's big cities have gotten way terrible I avoid them even more these days. Though also I've lived in the country my whole life so city life is odd to me and not my forte.

Growing up in the east end of Toronto, I always had a desire to live outside of the 'big city'. The constant noise and the lack of privacy, drove me crazy for as long as I can remember. As you get older, it doesn't get any better either.

This past June, I detect an old homestead site that archaeologists had excavated two years previous. Through research, I discovered this site dated from between 1840 – 70 when it apparently burned to the ground. This site is scheduled for residential development and the Province of Ontario...
