Chris never made a video for this song, but I still think it's one of his best.
I love that his wife Morgane sings backup on it too.

Morning Jim, how are your chickens doing these days?

Going well Dave
24 layers and 6 roosters
5 of the boys are separated from the hens.
Bubbles would of tolerated it for a tad, but it was stressful for the rest.
Still getting 21-23 eggs a day.👍

Good morning Bill, Bart and Rook. :coffee2:

The chickens are all looking happy and well fed Jim... hopefully no more issues with the fox population looking for a free Swiss Chalet take-out order. :laughing7:

Stupid question but:
What’s the difference between a setter and. Layer?
A setter is a hen who will hatch her eggs. A non-setter is a hen who will not hatch eggs.

The vast majority of chicken breeds will occasionally go "broody," meaning they will set their eggs and try to hatch them. However, a "setter" usually refers to a breed (or a specific hen) that frequently goes broody. Orpingtons and cochins are setters, for instance.

No problem of late, but the Fox is around daily on its rounds.
The 9ft fencing seems to be working.
When they do tick patrols out and about we stand guard.
Yesterday it was the side of the roadway all they way up to the shop, crazy amount of ticks right now.
Walk Max up the lawn edge=1-5 ticks
So it's going to be doing a walk of 24 of chickens for a few days to knock the blood suckers down.
Hardly ever see a car these days
Well not until Max is running around free or the chickens are foraging-then there always seems to a vehicle.
(won't see a vehicle for 2-3 days)
Like really is there a neon sign lit up on the highway-drive down that gravel street. :laughing7:
