The only one I might take up is an assistant to a UPS driver, or truck loader.

UPS is a first class outfit to get in with. My cousin started out washing trucks, became a driver, and now he has a nice retirement.

Show up early.
Give 110%.
Be pleasant to work with.

Those are my 3 keys to success in any endeavor. Good luck to you!

Morning Rusty

Just a query: Is this a temp. move or a permanent one-just that the part of "preparing for when I do get out of here" had me wonderinng.
It was often heard when one wanted to venture out in the world and start living by their own means.
Hope you'll have no issues in securing the final license-in it's self was a feeling of securing a ticket to go anywhere.

I'm not too sure. The day I get my license is the day I try to get hired on a part time basis somewhere. I would like to work nights, so I can do my school in the mornings, and help a friend at his house in the afternoons and get paid for that. Once I finish high school in about three months, I will immediately apply to get hired on Norfolk Southern. That could take a while, but in the mean time I'll be working somewhere, somehow. Once they accept me, I'll be going down to Georgia for a month for training, and after that I have no clue. I'll probably be stuck renting somewhere for a while, so I don't know when I'll see my stuff again. I don't want to have expensive relics everywhere in a rented house, that's a recipe for disaster.

Mornin all.
Big city day today to get a new socket cast for prosthetic leg.
Traffic lights , roundabouts or whatever they're called that get me on the wrong road again just before the one I need.... I've visited the wrong place each time the last two visits. Trying not to crash into someone. L.o.l...

Speaking of roundabouts....

Oh the collection is a great way of ending your own collection with others lurking the items out.
Had a party, and I looked in my China cabinet and found that the silver coronation coinage and items were gone.
I am not sure if it was the eyes playing tricks, or a rip off.
Nobody had left, I looked at the folks, stranger in the night.
Out came the the claw, on the dudes wind pipe, and out dropped the goods on the floor.

A plaster casting was taken to make a socket with.

Took a roundabout to the same wrong place again....:skullflag:
Guess I won't worry about getting a delivery job. L.o.l..
Trust me you'd still be better than our mailman...

Treated myself to another kitchen gadget today I ordered an electric yogurt machine with temperature control and timer.

With amount of yogurt me and the missus go through it should pay for itself in no time. I even splurged anf sprung for some decent quality culture.

Adding the store bought yogurt doesn't work all that well because it runs out of steam after a couple of starts.

What brand of machine Bill?

Have you ever looked into getting a Vita-mix-maybe you already have one.

For the folks don't know the brand I can't say enough good about it. Blender basically on steroids-3/4hp-10,000rpm-so if you put say oranges in the blender the juice is pulpy-not with the Vita-mix it cuts the fibre up so fine that it just juice.
Makes flour, and chops anything up in seconds.
Vegetables-water-spices-4 minutes hot soup.
Frozen fruit-yogurt-3/4 seconds a sorbet ice cream
Smoothies are great
7 yr warranty
20+ yrs and ours is still operating great. We replaced the chopping blade as the bearing finally went, a $40 - 5 minute fix.
Drawback-noisy
New models better sound dampening parts.

ECS,

One of the better film quote.

Still...to this day....I go by the nick name "cheif". I worked the long line shark boat for a good 20+ years. Some people still call me cheif after chief brody !!

Here I go!

Completely understand!

I once had the extreme displeasure of trying to find a building in Washington D.C. :BangHead:

With traffic, other drivers, unfamiliarity...I finally found the roundabout where I was supposed to be able to see this place from. I went round and round and round this large roundabout for almost a half hour!! Trying to catch a glimpse of this building ...* SOME-FRIGGIN-WHERE * !!!

I finally found it on the northeast "corner". It was 100 ft....straight up a hill! One * could * "SEE" it if they craned their neck almost straight up while driving in D.C.!!!

Here's a tip. One thing that D.C. will ***NEVER*** forgive...is a wrong turn!! Do it and you'll *stay* in D.C......FOREVER!
