Just made some applesauce for my morning fruit ration. Then with the cores and peels I boiled them up and after siesta I'll be making some jelly with it.

Then the scraps go in the compost bin. I've got some orange and lemon peels which I'll be prepping to make candied peels with.

Lots of stuff we can do with bits and bites most people just toss out or compost.

Now with 24 beaks to feed everyday, nothing is left hardly in the compost bin. I guess we get it back in eggs though which are quite tasty.

The chickens just speed up the composting for you then you just have to compost the poop.....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

We've got some seed potatoes on order and I have a smaller 4 lot combo of about 1kg each of small size ones.
 

Yay! My kellyco and Frigidaire orders both came in today! I had to order a battery holder for my ATMax and I succumbed to temptation and bought an Ugly Box. That’s gonna make cleaning nails fun! :laughing9:

Also, my dishwasher parts came in. We shall see if I am as handy as I am good looking. LOL :icon_scratch: :dontknow: :tongue3: :laughing7:

The little old guy is hanging on.
He gets carried outside most times. About every two hours.
Trying to keep weight on him.
That awful retching cough is under control. Unfortunately it's through drugs.

Others are varied. Most are doing well. There is one I tend to carry at potty time to get her out as she's so slow that others are done before she makes it to the door.
A couple like privacy , so get out by themselves now and then.
All need more running.
Snow still too deep in the back yard to turn them loose inside the fence there. Soon though.
 

Just had a friend drop by, he said both dog and the cat are going in for surgery. $6K for the dog, the good news was the cat was 1/2 price at $3K.
It's their kids basically, and they are going for it.

I am glad you have the old guy doing better. Drugs are necessary sometimes.
Are they all the same breed?

That’s another reason I don’t push for pets. I would spend it with out hesitation. The mr, not so much.
 

So for supper I am being a little daring. Meatloaf surprise.
1lb hamburger
1 little slider bun with a few pinches of my dehydrated onions from last year, pulverized together in the nutri-bullet.
1/2 tsp each salt, pepper, marjoram, parsley flakes
1/4 tsp cumin
About a 1/4 cup of long grain and wild rice
A healthy squirt of ketchup
1 egg

I can’t decide if I want to add ketchup to the top or shredded cheese when it is almost done.

It will be a surprise if it’s edible. [emoji23]

This past week or so had, a young turkey hen dropping around for a bite to eat.
Well now she brought the extended family over as well.
7 gals = bigger chance of a big summer hatching.
More beaks to feed.

I'm pretty much indifferent to what's going on with the variants, hidden agendas, etc...

I use the k.i.s.s. method when mulling things over, in other words, if it's outside of my control I could care less.

Control what you can control and ignore the rest, the what ifs in life will either drive you crazy or make your paranoid.
