...uh Captain, you may want to use a little conditioner & lotion next ya bathe...ya looks a little crispy & dry.
Maybe not enough rum???

Fat, biscuits & sausage gravy are all my cooking talents allow...and rum..yep!

Afternoon Msbeepbeep :hello:

A couple of years back I helped out a neighbour who had a property violation/clean up.
So over a period of 6 weeks I volunteered all my extra time to get it in order. There was 2 transport trailer crammed full of everything that had to emptied.
A good deed but I wonder why I do things sometimes.
Anyways there was a large custom built shelving unit to hold books.
It was going to the dumpster as the owner had zero space inside the house. (280 boxes of contents and collectibles plus furniture I unloaded and moved into the house.)
Anyways this unit I said well I will use it in the garage or shop.(Instead of paying fees to have it to landfill)
I thought again this week, now its part of the pantry shelving now.
Like the used and recycled part of life.
So this will live out its remaining life serving our needs.

Hey Msbeepbeep

Well its a lovely -24C right now feeling like a -28C. Down right nippy outside.
I trotted out to turn on the lights in the barn, and the hairy frost was all over the wall above the out side door. The moist warm air escaping through the door cracks.

The last few days it's been a couple of degrees above the freezing inside, and by the late afternoon it's up to near 38/40F inside. So the chickens are comfy compared to the outside temps.
They gave us 13 cackle berries yesterday, a bakers dozen. Had one jumbo, crazy big it is from such a young one. Must be the treats-has to be-what else would it be...

Yet it's a tad of a worry having this cold snap, yet the sun has warmth to it already shining through the glass.
Oh it's nice to see the glimmer of a longer day now, but that darn moon has been a tad too bright at night.

Minus twenty-four degrees C.?

Why that's cold enough to make the bark on the trees start popping....

But think of it this way- it's only about about minus eleven degrees F..

We hear them popping and snapping. Had a 21" oak split from the ground to 30ft up the trunk.
When it's dead quiet and one goes off near us its a bit of a star

Hi there Pepper, Rook, and duckshot.

Pepper, you can't beat the quality, endurance, & repair ability of good wood furniture.
It was hard explaining to customers why we couldn't repair their furniture, when it wasn't wood to start with, like plastic dinning room chairs that were made to look like wood, or the stapled particle board one that got wet and was now disintegrating.
Solid wood is awesome.

We took some pulled pork out of the freezer so sandwiches tonight and I whipped up a huge coleslaw to have on the side.

Now back to the grind I've got 4 cabbages to slice and chop up to get about 1 gallon of sauerkraut fermenting.

We can hear the rafters in the roof making sounds in this cold. Gonna get ...s-n-o-w mon.-wed. They are saying maybe a foot or more. I hope not :nono:

Sounds good Bill. We'll all be right over for dinner.

Bart the (wood) price to pay when a neighbor gets the tables turn on them.
Nice to hear your getting back to exploring the fleet.
Also how is the modern fleet going to handle going- no gas, all electric or battery powered? Solar panels won't be much help in a storm. Or are we going back to sails?

WHADIFIND, I will warn ye before I check the box...in case things go south and the ship lists past 20°.

All too kind, your ladyship!

I thought about mummifying myself... but embalming with Rum definitely trumped that. :P

I seem to be having difficulties in the General Discussion section of this forum.

Anyways, I have a question for the rest of the crew- do I need psychiatric attention?

Or is it just too difficult to follow my train of thought? :dontknow:

Not in this thread, where of course I do need a head shrink or maybe just one less daily rum ration, I mean in the other forum section.
