THE Random Chat Thread - AKA "The RCT" - No shirt or shoes required - Open 24 / 7

Well yesterday was a visit by the dock contractors going over the final plans of the dockage that is getting installed next week.
The electricians were here for the whole day, wired unplugs in the house, smoke/co detectors, outdoor lights on house, high output LED security lighting on barn/house. Hard wired in the brooder lighting in the barn. Plugs and outdoor lighting on garage-with a remote-can operate lights from car or in the house.:headbang:

I spent a few hrs nursing a not so well chick, giving her supplemental yoke, and Bovine colostrum to give her a boost.
Will repeat today a few times as it might give her the needed kick to start her up again. Just seems weak and wants to lay under the light to stay warm.
Good thing was she was up grooming/pecking/drinking at the end of the day.

The only thing that didn't get done was the front doorbell, the push button fell apart as it was being installed. This is a replacement for the one that fell apart during the installation process when I tried a year and a half ago.
The electrician said:"I'm thinking this would work really well if I went down and installed this '':censored:" thing off the end of the dock Jim :BangHead:. Just saying I hate being defeated by such a small thing as this." :laughing7:

Yep
Good luck Dave. What type pup did you get?

Good morning Rook.
She's a Coton-Bichon or 'Biton' for short, which is achieved by crossing two pure breeds, a Bichon Frise and a Coton de Tulear.
We've named her Oakley... here's how she looked at 4 weeks back in September.

Dave this is only from experience from picking up Max and a 2 1/2 hr drive. No problem with an accidence in vehicle, as the Mrs held him.
We made a few pit stops along the way just to let him out and play/duties.
We stopped at a cheese factory and got some cheese and a little treat for him.
Now that was the game changer-something totally yummy loved into a chewy play toy where it took him a good 30 minutes of licking to get it all out.
See there will be separation anxiety from the pack, and mommies warm supplemental treats.
I have never met a puppy that peanut butter wasn't a "I Love You" licks afterwards treat. :icon_thumright:
Have to take her mind off the separation.

Beat of luck today being stuck in the Kia for 6 hrs with 3 females.:laughing7:

Thanks for the advice Jim, we intend on making multiple pits stops.
My wife has offered to sleep downstairs on the couch with her tonight.
I'll take over at 5am when I get up, so my wife can go to bed.
Great suggestion about the peanut butter too.

Best of luck with your sick chick and with the contractors next week.

Good morning WD. :hello:

Morning WD, already for the big day/evening of treat hand outs?

Great in hearing the Mrs is stepping up and sleeping down around her.
I slept on the floor in front of Max's kennel for 2 nights.
My arm inside so he could feel it(lay on it) What we do for our pets really-the masters of grabbing our hearts.

Good morning ARC, Dave, Jim, Rook & WD.

Dave good luck picking up the little pup and having 2 females nattering at you....ear plugs anyone....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

Ready? No. Excited? YES! I'm going to take Mommy and her 3 little munchkins to Indiana, where Daddy is, and trick or treat with a Halloween Party afterwards.

Now, do I want to be the piratess like last year, or a witch? It can easily be converted.

The puppy is a female also-Dave is on the bottom of the ladder now. :laughing7:

The only reason I got chickens Bill is to build myself up.
Cat/cat, dog, Jim, chickens, I understand the pecking order.

Good stuff.:headbang:

When living in a condo the management used to hold a party in the lobby for the kids. I sponsored the event for years and the candy bags were full to say the least.
My part of the donation was to go the big box store and get somewhere in the neighbourhood of $350-400 worth of many/chips for the bag hand outs, then there was the donations from some of the other 330 units in the building.
The superintendent sorted, and made up the bags every year, decorated, and it became a building to go to for the less fortunate kids/families that lives in the area. We had desk security 24/7 in the lobby of the building so no trick or treating door to door in the building.

Good Morning all! Here's a couple of Halloween "Dad" jokes for you...

Albert Einstein was a great man. But I hear that his brother Frank was a real monster.

Do you know why demons and ghouls are often seen together? Because demons are a ghouls best friend!
