Morning Rusty
I read that you were operating a dozer yesterday-congrats.
Were you enjoying the experience?

It was a large machine, but simple to control. You have a lever for speed (just open it up, and let 'er go), and a "joystick" for direction. Forwards, backwards, side left, side right, and three quarter angles. There is another lever for the blade (which is quite remarkable) and that's about it. I'll be working on it again today, moving dirt.

My grandfather operated a bulldozer for PP$L company in Pennsylvania for well over 30 years. He loved that job.

Rained here last night W.D..
Wanting too still from the looks of the overcast...
Temps dropped to forties. Wind 10- 20 M.P.H..

Disabled deer hunt starts today ,through the 18th.
I'll try to bundle up and sneak out this evening.

So several days ago, I ordered several items to gear up for election day. A trump 2020 banner, a Trump flag, and a really friggin' cool hoodie from Nine Line Apparel. (I've actually been to the place) So anyways, the banner arrived yesterday, and now it hangs above our garage. The flag came today, and when I opened it, inside was a Biden 2020 flag. Huh? Apparently they had an excess of Biden flags, so they sent me one to unload their stock. Needless to say, I asked for a refund.

Busy day today so supper will be a pulled pork sandwich. I sauteed up some onions and we'll be having a coleslaw made with a mix of cabbage and carrot and some celery root from the garden.

Good luck, be careful, and stay warm. I hope you get one!

I’m going to refrain from commenting. [emoji2957]

My dinner was all messed up. I was looking forward to a left over Italian sausage. Mr WD was supposed to be gone. Plans changed. He stayed and ate the leftover sausage. I got a can of chicken and stars soup. However, the rest of the cobbler stayed also, and I got some of that.

They still make that? I can still remember the taste of canned chicken soup.
The chicken gets roasted, striped, bones, skin, fat gets a long simmer in the big pot for most of the day. We get our broth from that, and the starter for another line of soups.
Need to do some beef bones up for broth, nothing better than a thermos mug full with turmeric and salt/pepper.

I operated the dozer for a bit today, filling in craters made by the excavator. It was a bit of a learning curve, because he handed me the machine and left, but I figured it out and worked until it was out of gas.

WD,

The thing that caught my attention in this article is that he's being put down by the professionals from the government.

I'm sure their reason is not so much that he's disrupting the eco system as they state but he's showing them up by doing a better job and having more success than them basically unpaid competition. Much like the disdain most archeologists have towards us detectorists mostly for the same reasons.

I had to chuckle when the writer said he was secretly letting them loose. Ha Ha. Not a secret any longer. Our county asks for people to bring them milk weed pods so that they can plant them to help with the monarch butterflies.

An interesting video on how professional chefs prepare lobster. It encourages me to up my game when it comes to cooking.

Sure it was gas? Most heavy equipment is diesel-which means bleed the system to get it going again(tad bit of air in the line and it's stops). Gas is an easy, pump, pump the gas petal - vroom.

The secret is never get too flustered when it's not behaving-sometimes really slow is one's best friend.

I put a pod or two in the armrest of the doors in my truck.
The pods open and when I drive down some road I hit the power window and the magic seeds fly out.
:dontknow: If they survive or not-but I smile and it makes me kind of happy thinking that I may help the life of a butterfly a tad easier.
