Rusty
Before I retired I had a customer that scrapped ignite from the ground that fueled a TVA power plant. Some the largest machines you'll find anywhere. From Graders to dozens to shovels. These operators made great salaries. It was a swing shift deal though. All CAT equipment. Just something you might look into if you liked that field.

Good morning ARC, Bart, Dave, Jim, Rook, Rusty & WD.

Rook starting tomorrow about 5 days of rain coming our way...most of our garden has been put to bed for the season.

Rusty heavy equipment operators can make some good money it's always a good skill to have.

Jim good score on the tanks, etc....that stuff would cost a pretty penny if bought new.

Good morning Bill

We're all about reuse-build something new-and include some history to it as it gets built.
Take our home for example-the floor in the sunroom is reclaimed pine flooring that was out of a homestead original home that was used as a dry shed for the tractors forever.
6/4 boards were dirty impregnated with oil grease but a hidden gem lay beneath.
I power washed them down, them had them milled down to 3/4" so there was no staining left-then made them into random length flooring.
A little of the local history from the early pre Victorian times in the house.
Took the Victorian wood shutters that were gifted to me and cut two in half, they now grace the attic vents on the ends of the garage.
The ash floor from a loft 12-16" boards were milled down to supply flooring in the pantry, and screened porch.

So the generator trailer will have a history, yes I can afford to buy a shiny turn key generator at $15-20K-but really what fun would that be?

WD,

Looks like a tasty apple cobbler another option you may want to try is an apple crumble.

It was soooooooooooooooo good! We ate half of it last night! I have made apple pie and apple crisp. That was my first apple cobbler. I just looked up apple crumble. It looks a lot like my apple crisp, except for the nuts. MR WD doesn't like nuts, so, I don't use them in anything I make. :-\ The cobbler recipe said I could make the apple filling part up and freeze it for up to 3 months and use in, pie, cobbler, crisp. I may do that with the apples I have left.

You've got an amazing looking house and view Jim, kudos to you for re-purposing the old into modern builds.

What would've been fun, was me delivering a new Generac generator to you, then us going detecting... now that would've been fun! :laughing7:

To clarify, he doesn't like them in baking/cooking. Raw is OK. I cannot tell you how long it has been since I had chocolate chip cookies with bits of walnuts in them! No nuts in banana bread or carrot cake, either. Once, I made a sweet potato dish with slivered almonds. It was the bomb! But, never again, because he didn't like the almonds on it.

Understood, Sire. But it Tis the main forum on the site where one should compliment and encourage others. It is also one of the forum that I struggle with the most. So when you and anyone else lures me up there, it is good for all.

WHAT!?!
Ye need but say the word, Milady!
