Just wanted to thank Jim, Bill and Rook for the good wishes and to let you know that my interview at United Rentals went well yesterday, the only issue was the pay they offered me. :laughing7:
I interviewed for the same job in 1999 and the salary they offered me yesterday was $10K less then it was 21 years ago... needless to say, I was very disappointed.

On a happier note, I connected with the head of HR at Generac Generators in Wisconsin yesterday and she asked me to apply for the job below.
After I applied, she again responded saying, "A recruiter on my team is going to reach out. Her name is Christianah Ajanku."
This certainly sounds positive. :thumbsup:

  • Partner with Product Managers to advise customers on specification based on application and technical needs
  • Work with sales and business leadership to develop business plans that support growth objectives
  • Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence to business and sales leadership
  • Maintain tight follow up on programs to close opportunities effectively and efficiently
  • Communicate proficiently with internal peer sales team members to ensure coordinated effort to capture and serve accounts effectively
  • Be responsible for the overall success of our relationship across all touchpoints

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years related experience
  • Ability to travel 50 - 70% of the time

Sounds like United is either low-balling or they're not holding market share and haven't the budget for recruitment.
The generator position sounds more like what you're qualified for Dave, best of luck going forward.
