Rental story, as promised.

We used to vacation on Lake Cherokee.

Cherokee Lake | Online Guide

FYI this was also worldtalker's old stomping ground at one time. We figured out the commonality on Tnet.

Anyway...
This one trailer we stayed at was barely furnished. Really just a place for fisherman to crash. So, I go to the local mall (Dollar General) and by cheap items, mostly for cooking. Well, I had plenty of that stuff back home, so I left it. We made this the only place we would stay and every time I went I added furnishings and decor and it felt like a second home. I even took extra stuff from home and left it there.(towels & wash clothes, etc.) Yep, I was nesting. We didn't do any repairs (I don't recall it needing any) but I did have to take care of an ant invasion one year. We weren't exactly compensated for any of it, but the owner did make sure to save the first week of July for us and even a Thanksgiving weekend.

This, Bart, is where we Striper fished. (That's Striper not stripper guys :laughing9:) We haven't had any Striper for years. That's a good eating fish! You got to cut off the red meat first, though.

Drying my shipwreck wood. It's been soaking and rinsing for a couple days now. The drying will tell me how clean it is....if it takes all day to dry then it still has alot of salt in it. If it drys quickly it's been well flushed and ready for preservation. 20200714_100034.jpg I'll make art out of it some how !!

Morning WD.....that was a mighty nice fish your man got !! That's why you should always be thankful for MR. WD !! He will keep you fed through the longest winters !! Halibut is one of my favorites !!

Good morning, Bart. Yes, we have loads of fish to eat. I hope it is good. I am pretty finicky about fish/seafood. That's why I ask so many questions about what's good and how to cook it. I try to store the info in my pea brain in hopes that one day I get the guts to try something different. Walleye is my favorite and he cooks it best. I tell him that, yet he still lets people cook it over here with their recipes. Edible, but not like his. We did have some grilled a couple of weeks ago that was absolutely awesome! That's a different way we need to learn. Something about garlic infused olive oil, garlic powder and with or without orange marmalade. I tell you it was delicious both ways!

There are a couple videos of him trying to lift that fish. His friends were harassing him. He gave up. I told him that the guide made it look easy. He said, "Not really. His arms were quivering and he's a wrestler and football player and in very good shape." LOL!

They caught some salmon too, but I didn't get sent any pics.

No. This is Rusty we're talkin about.
He'd tip over a chair while in it, or walk into a street sign or something.

So let's not encourage him....:laughing7:

Hey Rusty: Look, a railroad track! (Cover your ears now.)

Dave took a vacation day?

Yeah sorry about that... we had a campfire last night because my daughter wanted to burn some of her ex-boyfriends clothes. :laughing7:
I didn't get to bed until 11pm and slept until 7:15am, this morning I watched The Secret of Roan Inish on YouTube instead of logging in.
My daughter and I were out for 4hrs yesterday afternoon on rented Jetski's, so we were both a little toasty when we got back to the cottage! :sunny:

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning scallywags !

Argggg... $#!T ... :/

Time to go back to sleep.

:P... j/k

G night peeps.

Not time for sleep... time for horizontalness though.

Now let’s see. What’s the average falling asleep time once one gets horizontal? Hmm? Better give it 10 minutes afore I tap the keg.

Today's picking.
