The "Peralta" Stone Maps --- On Their Own

I hate to say it but at first the Peralta Stones intrigued me. Then I got to thinking. Why would anyone carve maps in stone when they already knew the way themselves? Secondly why would *anyone* carve so many stones adding to the weight of a burro through harsh dry desert when they could be carrying supplies or gold back to Mexico? The stones are not real in my opinion. I'd like someone to prove that they lead to a treasure or to a gold deposit but they are undecipherable. They are undecipherable because they lead nowhere.

If the Peralta Stones were on a burro that escaped the massacre grounds where were the saddle bag remnants? As recently as 1962 dry rotted saddle bags of ore were found by Kochera, but with the Peralta stones there were no saddle bags remaining and you have to ask yourself why anyone on the Peralta Expedition would take the time to carve and carry heavy stones that could break when they already knew the way to the mine or horde....

Does anyone else see my reasoning here? The Peralta Expedition didn't expect to be massacred, so why take the time to carve ornate meaningless maps in heavy sandstone, and one fired (clay) heart with the equivalent of Chinese badly translated when they ALREADY KNEW THE WAY.

Makes no sense. The Peralta's could have found a mine for sure and they could have returned any time they wished. They didn't need 5 or 7 stones to find the way.

people have been trying for 60 years to prove those maps are real and they do pertain to the superstitions...so far to no avail

I believe exists only one answer : The " Peralta " stone maps were not made by Peraltas who were doing many trips to and from the mines , but by a grup of Spaniards who never left the region and who they didn't know if leaving the place they will ever return back .

I would agree they aren't made by Peralta miners.

The only similarity for " Orion " dots in the Horse stone map is with the dots on the gold bar ( which allegedy found LaFrance in West Boulder Canyon of Superstitions ) . The crown which is composed by the lines between the dots , maybe reveals to whom belonged those 5 mines , because maybe the other 3 ( dot in circle ) belonged to the church . Maybe for this the capilla of Santa Fe is located in the fields between the two dot in circle symbols in front of the Horse .

Then we must toss out the notion they were in the possession of them at the Massacre grounds and also toss the theory that one poor scared burro or mule ran for its life and dropped its saddle bags at the spot near Florence Junction where they were found.

Also per the other thread on Franks take on the stones. The theory that they even dropped from a burro or mule doesn't make sense considering SomeHiker's pictures of the stacked stones and marker stones where the Peralta Stones were found. There goes that theory. Which means they were placed there by someone...

Or............the whole story about the miraculous find is fiction, the copies you have seen are reproductions, and the real story is far stranger than imagined.....

But; them's just my thoughts. Everyone is free to form their own opinions.

I still think they have a conection to Reevis,to bolster his claim, but were not recovered in time for his defense Delibertly or accidentally.

Another possibility is their was a Mission close by at 1 time, and when the current road construction was put in the foundations were covered up and bulldozed clean.I am sure all early Missions had stone masons on their staff.

I agree that the story of how Tumlinson found the Stone Maps is a total fabrication. Hopefully the forthcoming TV show or whatever it is, will shed more light on this matter.

Oh lord, another TV show or docu-fakery. Please tell me it isn't the History Channel at it again.

Did the Jesuits have power tools? The Peralta Stones were cut with power tools. The surface was milled by machine.

Well if they were able to fly over the Superstitions and view it the same way google maps does, and also buried their treasures accordingly, then they must have been capable of creating and possessing such tools.

That's a question you'll have to ask the guy who is creating it. I'm not sure he's posting anymore. Maybe someone on here knows.

The History Channel came through again amigo. Here is the answer for it.

Oh, geeze Pete! Talk about "here we go again", LOL..........

On a civil note.......I'm telling you all that I can. Its a narrow fence rail I'm walking. Work with me here<g>.

On a related note........just a random thought. With all the strong feelings associated with "all things Stone Maps", what I find really odd is the lack of interest and no discussion of what is just around the corner that's going to dramatically affect any search for the truth or evidence of what really happened around the Stones and their history. I understand and can totally relate to the time and effort MANY have expended on this subject and why it can be a touchy subject. It can be addictive and all consuming. Granted......got that!

But, what I don't understand is no discussion of what's going to happen in a matter of months when Resolution Copper comes in and changes the face of these mountains FOREVER! That's your real ticking time bomb. Any signs, evidence, trail markers and a good part of anything left behind is going to be buried under a mile of toxic waste. Do your homework now.....before its too late.

No one can mine the Wilderness Old, that won't ever happen barring WWIII. I am not up to speed on Resolution Copper but if it's in the Wilderness it'll never happen now.

Well, ............ Here's the long story http://www.resolutionmineeis.us/sit...iles/resolution-copper-gpo-vol-1-20160509.pdf

And here's the short story............. View attachment 1609039

I read up on it after you posted. Superior is mined like crazy anyway. If the Indians wanted it protected they should have fought harder. (LOL). Anyway I don't see the problem with letting them mine it. I personally don't see the big deal. Perfectly okay to flood and destroy hundreds of thousands of acres of sacred land in the New Deal but we can't mine a bit and generate wealth for fear of hurting someone's feelings.

Secondly, the Native Americans were living on borrowed land themselves and were just as barbaric as European stock This wasn't Apache or Gila or Cherokee or Muskogee or Creek or whomevers land. They all moved around, fought wars, abandoned areas, took up new ones etc.

Hell all the Natives are Siberian immigrants. So...

Let em mine already.

Mining in Superior isn't the issue.............well maybe for Superior it is. The issue is the waste product dump, which at completion will be 6000 feet of overburden raising the existing desert floor over a mile high.
