Don Jose,

I fear you have been listening to the wrong people. I am 65, but it's my libido that's 39. Being Italian has it's moments.

Beyond that, you should not denigrate my creditabilitly, as I can buy anything I want to.

Take care,

Joe

So Here Goes, I hope this Picture Communicates and ties the topic in this thread with the """"Wizard Of Oz"""" PLEASE LET ME AND JEFF KNOW?

Gary,

I know how to work that IGNORE Button. I just don't want all the Wizard of Oz BS on a thread that I started. JK is welcome to start a new thread of his own as he has so many times before.

Mike, Point taken, although with all this talk of Chestnut Lodge his presence here is probably more on topic than in any of the threads you mention.

I'm getting mighty tired of some of this nonsense!

Castusj, could you please tell me where on your Barry Storm book you find the Publishers number of that book, I cant seem to find the number sequence on mine, thanks in advance, Jon

Jon,

You will need to flesh that request out a little bit. What number are we talking about? I will go back in this topic and see where I talked about book numbers.

Take care,

Joe

Hey Joe, Im thinking you refered the books as being numbered like 1,2,3,etc.,as they were run off the press...Jon

Thanks, Joe, now I understand, I was thinking something different,at times I am a little slow, I appreciate the time you took in responding,
Regards, Jon

I have a first edition of Storm's book - you did say "numbered and signed his books by hand".

Mine is signed, but, it's not numbered, it just has a salutation?? Now, I'm curious.

My copy is a 1st edition, treasure trails edition,June 1945, signed by a person with the last name of Poss. There is no Storm signature or salutations. I would like to hear how this compares with other 1st editions.
I read some where, that when the latter editions were printed, some of the content was deleted,or changed.

Mine is a first edition, 1939.

On the inside page that says "Trail of the Lost Dutchman by Barry Storm", hand written, it says "May you be the one to find the end" and then his signature.

Are there different ones from 1939? (I wasn't able to find it at Abe's rare books - but we've had this for quite a while.)

B

In the 1939 "Trail of the Lost Dutchman", Storm just inscribed: "May you find the end to" just above the name of the book on the title page. That was followed by his signature......No numbers. The first 5000 copies of "Thunder Gods Gold" (1945), were numbered and signed on the title page by Storm. My copy of that book is #176 of 5000.

I believe Greg Davis has, almost, every edition of Storm's books, as well as every printing. He could probably give you the details. You could also take a look at: http://www.lost-dutchman.com/dutchman/dutch.shtml

I'm still looking (at the site posted), but I haven't seen this one - yet. (of course, I only have one copy ;D ).

I don't know if you can even see it - its with my digital camera, because my scanner is.........screwing up.

CJ,

My mistake - I saw the outside of the book on the site - I just "flaked out" - and for some reason, was looking for the way he signed in different versions.(when I said I hadn't found this one, yet, I was looking for the different things he signed).

I'm ok - no I'm not, yes you are, no I'm not............................ ::)

Its definitely the same handwriting, and a similar note.

Did he sign something differently in the other versions?

B

Beth,

Based on the limited number of Storm inscriptions I have, and what I have seen, I would say the answer to your question is Yes. I doubt he signed exactlly the same thing for any printing or edition.

He was, after all, a man with a lot of imagination and talent.
