Ok, so a big part has to do with the location of “his mine”I have been thinking … maybe I could do better at explaining what I’m seeing in the Waltz Map …. So here is a start.
I think that waltz made the map, primarily for himself, after having a hard time locating “his mine” after being gone…. So he would not ever have a hard time locating it again.
Later on … much later, I think that Waltz was desperately trying to give Julia “his mine” and the cache, to the point of maybe getting a wagon and going as far as they could get, and he might point the way
In all honesty, it does sound desperate.
A lot depends on what kind of maze we’re talking about.
What if the mine location is just off of LaBarge somewhere?
Does that simplify things ??
I think it does, and enough that perhaps that’s why Waltz had come up with the plan.
If the mine is close enough to LaBarge, all he would have to do, is get Julia and Rhiney to LaBarge.
Then here is where the Waltz Map might have come into play again, only this time for Julia.
The Waltz Map imo, is a plot map of Wsltz’ ravine, and shows locations of things in relation to the surrounding terrain.
Waltz just needs to bridge the gap from LaBarge over to the edges of the Waltz map. Then Julia would need to know the Waltz map too, or learn it.
More to come ….
So now to see if that trail from LaBarge, goes to the edges of the Waltz map.Ok, so a big part has to do with the location of “his mine”
It’s no secret where I think it’s located, and it’s not very far from LaBarge, in fact there is a trail that goes almost right there.
Taking LaBarge canyon downstream, one will come to marsh valley and start heading north, but then head west through the red hills and take the first trail to the south. Here is a pathway from just north of Bluff Springs mountain, to where I think waltz’ mine is located. The length of the yellow line is just under 3,000 meters.

More to come ….
Figured I gave the most important part, rest should be self-explainable. Not that hard to figure out.Doc,

Ok Doc, but I wouldn’t read too much into that. 😉Figured I gave the most important part, rest should be self-explainable. Not that hard to figure out.
Exactly, is not for the LDM. People can go their own route. Just helping those that want to get on the right track and not chase their tail. Hint the pinwheel is where the canal system is now.Ok Doc, but I wouldn’t read too much into that. 😉

I think you misunderstand, but good luck with your studies👍Exactly, is not for the LDM. People can go their own route. Just helping those that want to get on the right track and not chase their tail. Hint the pinwheel is where the canal system is now.
You dont study things u figured out , U study things u dont know about. This one is a dead horse. Not worth the time, Its not the LDM.I think you misunderstand, but good luck with your studies👍
Then why are you here. You dont study things u figured out , U study things u dont know about. This one is a dead horse. Not worth the time, Its not the LDM.
Ok, back to the question ….. did Waltz give Julia the map?So now to see if that trail from LaBarge, goes to the edges of the Waltz map.
First, here is a section of the Waltz Map.

Notice the arrow on the left, that I highlighted with some RED. Also that same arrow seems to be pointing to those to areas that I highlighted with some yellow.
I think that the yellow areas are representing some landmarks… to let you know you are heading in the right direction.
Next, here is a google earth image that helps tie things together.

Notice the arrow highlighted RED on the left. There is the red hills trail right next to it (parallel) coming from LaBarge.
The arrow seems to be pointing to the 2 yellow areas. Those yellow areas seem to be land marks …. Ridges of those hills across needle canyon. And lo and behold the region of the Waltz map. There is enough to show Julia …. Only Waltz never lived long enough to take the wagon ride….
But …. Did Waltz give Julia the map? 🤷🏼♂️

What makes you think that Jacob Waltz made this map? I know about the doodle he supposedly drew on his deathbed. Here is a copy of the Waltz map.
Here are some basics:
- I believe this map is 2 sections.
- The left 1/3 of this is an enlargement of the core area, shown on the right hand map section.
- the right hand map section, is more of a plot map, as far as I can tell.
- I suspect greatly, that Waltz made this map for himself….. so he would not have a hard time finding the exact spots of things again .… (something he mentioned to Rhiney)
- I also suspect that waltz gave and/or showed this map to Julia, during the talking and planing of the potential trip of Waltz leading them in, at least part way from the board house.
I think it was to be applied, once in the mine vicinity.
I think Waltz figured that if he could get them to the vicinity, then this map, along with his explanation of the map, would get Julia to the mine(s).
I believe 99.999% that this map is real.(but probably a duplicate of the original.)

I think the story is he was given this map? I don't know. Why would a German, who learned English as a secong language write "oro" on his map? Especially if the point of the map was to give it to Julia, who spoke English and German (I think). Just pondering, and possibly incorrectly as I have no idea how many languages Waltz nor anyone in the story, spoke. What makes you think that Jacob Waltz made this map? I don’t know about the doodle, but I never found the spot either. What makes you think that Jacob Waltz made this map? I know about the doodle he supposedly drew on his deathbed.

Oh Im not saying you're wrong, just trying to add to the discussion. I honestly hope and my fingers are metaphorically crossed hoping you DO FIND what you're looking for there. I don't wish anyone ill will, not even marcmar, and I hope to "help" everybody, hence HD videos of certain areas. I would certainly rather help than hinder.cuz,
There are different accounts on how Waltz came into possession of the mine.
There is only one account of waltz starting a 2nd mine in that ravine. That account tells of 2 mines. The “Peralta” mine, and “his mine”.
His mine did not exist before he showed up. Yet it is shown on the map.
According to that account, “his mine” is the one he buried.
Again, who else would know where the 2 small caches were put?
You asked about oro ….. the 2 small caches are gone. How would anyone else besides Waltz and his partner would know the whereabouts, to make the map? (According to that same account, his partner was killed, while Waltz was getting supplies)
Everyone here is free to believe what ever.
I’m just reporting finds, and what I see. 😉
Does that prove waltz made the map?
No. 😁

Don't worry, I won't go walk your coordinates and make a video....unless you and I discuss things before hand. lol. I'm not that kind of guy. "Your area" is "your area." I won't impose or anything like that. I'll actually make sure to stay away from that area until it's clear you are through.Oh Im not saying you're wrong, just trying to add to the discussion. The "oro" question just occurred to me and I hadn't seen anyone raise the issue. It's a legit question and is not an attempt to say that this map doesn't lead to where you say it does. While I was thinking about it, who wrote "the Waltz Map" across the side? Was that Jacob too? It does seem to match the handwriting with the other letters on the map itself, so I would guess it's the same author. Maybe somebody copied the map from someone and hence, everything is in the same handwriting?
Either way, you seem convinced that you have found where the map leads, whatever it's provenance and for that a congratulations is in order, I'd say. I look forward to hearing more about what you find. This is what is exciting about treasure hunting for me, not so much discussing mundane details, but actually going out there and hearing stories of other people who have too. So far I have enjoyed the pictures and stories. It has been a fun journey "riding along with you" throughout this thread and I look forward to seeing more.

🤔OR... maybe its not waltz map and is actually a peralta map and where it says ORO is of the peralta mine on red mountain... Just saying... 🤯Cuz,
The “Oro” question is a good one. I thought about it too. Odd for Spanish to be on there.
My thoughts on it didn’t yield much. Was waltz being tricky (in his mind 😉) by using Spanish? 🤓😂
Probably not.
Maybe oro=gold is or was fairly common to know both 🤷🏼♂️
Like I said, that didn’t yield much 🫤
it occurred to me, that If this map was modified for the use of Julia (and Rhiney), that they may have been present during the modification(s)
I’m not convinced that Waltz would have labeled things, rather he would maybe only need a refresher on a layout detail.
Things like ORO, the arrow pointing to the 2 small areas…… (waltz didn’t need the arrow either) maybe Rhiney or Julia made the extra markings/writings onto the map?
🤷🏼♂️ - but it is conceivable that the 3 of them did it together, while waltz might have been teaching them the map.
I mean certainly he would prepare them, right?
Just thoughts 🤓
Oro is a good question. 👍
