went thru my md "treasure box" last nite looking for other donations, got some books,an IronMan
dvd, coins, diggers, first aid kits and such, plus a "coupon" for 10 lbs of bbq pork i'll be giving away.nobody leaves
empty handed

Hey I was going thru my treasure box too, I'll throw in a circulated Morgan dollar, 2 circulated Walking Liberty
half dollars, & 4 circulated Washington silver quarters to the prize list.

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like i said before some people just don't like these kinds of hunts, toooooo bad for them.like to thank all you guys for making this one happen.i remember the first one we did where 3 of us sat there with 16 lbs of bbq pork trying to figure out what went wrong......remember that one Murph?now we're at 20 or so people and everyone pitching in.............freaking awesome   :

You know, since there are real prizes that may be available, it presents a great opportunity for some positive PR. I love the seeded comp hunts I have attended but this one is a bit different in structure and planning. If we all brought a plate to pass that'd be great, but if we all brought a prize to pass or better yet raffle, that'd be different for sure.

My suggestion would be a great morning hunt followed by a pig out and raffle for prizes. Money raised could go to a local kids charity in the name of (fill in the blank) Ron's Windy City Detectors, the CCFP hunt bunch, whatever you'd want to call it. As long as folks heard talk of it then it's a win. Isn't there a Ronald McDonald house or something like that around there?

Toss it around in your skull.

sounds good lowbatts, but we're not charging or collecting cash, everybody that shows up puts their name in a hat,no charge, just gotta show to get a prize............and the only "charity" i trust is a stripper down at Heavenly Bodies

Ever think about posting this hunt (or the official sign up thread) on "TNet Member Hunts" forum too? A lot of people in Illinois and the surrounding area do not watch the "General Discussion-Illinois" forum.. If you want to keep it "locals only" thats cool too. Either way I am going to have a great time.............. and maby get my first silver :occasion14:

I have never been to the camp, can someone give me directions?

hey Max,you keep coming up with suggestions buddy,i'm not the brightest and will probably miss something, thanks ...........why not,its in the tnet hunt section.....THANKS MAX!

Hey Goio, you gonna bring the Indy bunch from the coinhunting forum? We sticking to the campsite, or working the area across Dee Road as well?

Go wherever you want, just don't miss the bbq!!!! :tongue3:
I hunted over ther for a couple of hours and just found some clad. But others told me they found some silver there. Back in the day it was a farmers field (1938 pix) But I went and hunted the very edge of the field, I do want to check out the woods inbetween the road and the field.

Hey lowbatts, I did mention it to the coinhunting group. we'll see what happends. Like Rich said, if you don't post your presence here then you are not coming!! :icon_pirat:

Wow...a lot of you guys are bringing cool things to donate. Hmm, I'll have to scrounge something up...I don't have many coins, mostly wheat cents my grandpa gave me that I'll never give away...guess I'll have to figure something out.

Big-time props to Bomber. This guy alone is the reason we all are doing what we are doing- the group hunts and such. I've met some great guys because of him, including him, TreasureFiend, LowBatts, Goio, Murph, etc. I've made some great finds at the spot he introduced me to and have memories that will last a lifetime. Definately one of the most generous individuals I know. Thanks, Bomber.

I'm hoping a considerable amount of the brush will die off in time for this hunt, it's already getting better than it was in July (ugh). Looking forward to this!

Joe
