DOC NOSS-Victorio Peak OR The Caballo Mountains

UncleMatt, I am trying to complete my research on The Lost Padre Mine (Padre La Rue) in the Organ Mountains. Do you know where I can find the following publication:

Kottlowski, F. E., 1966, The Lost Padre Mine: New Mexico Magazine,
October 1966, p. 22, 23, 34, 36.

The reference is from the "New Mexico Geological Society Guidebook", 1975, page 165 reference .

I have contacted new mexico magazine and there records do not go back that far.

Morning Gentlemen, any body have a ides where NP an his lil map are ?? He's overstaying his leave.

That guy was putting out some good info if you knew the area. Maybe he found a good cache

even so he was 100 % off on his Tayopa data , among other things. All that I will say since he isn't here to present his side.

Dog, the treasure hunter. I was in treasureminder 2 camp at the beginning because he has an interesting "life story" that touched on an area of research of mine, the Templars. Concentrating on the Templar aspect only, we conversed off line and he shared a lot of his family history regarding Templar connections. I started fact checking, names, locations, dates, etc and things did not add up. Then he came out and stated emphatically "I made it all up" and "I write fiction" (paraphrasing). I can only take him at his word since I don't know him personally. He tells a good "story". But if you are into fact based history, it's a questionable path to follow. I much prefer yours ,whiskey rat, real of tayopa, uncle Matt, oroblanco, contribution on the Caballo's stories. Oh, let's not forget that cagey NotPeralta!

I hear what you are saying Dirt1955. I like reading his stuff and others that are not the usual spanish did everything. I can say this, I have a site that i believe is a Templar location. Its the only site i have found out here that uses black stones as eye catchers. TM2 had mentioned the name Rascone as Templar. There is a canyon behind this site that i believe is a Templars H.Q. Its called Rascone canyon on a map. His postings have helped me,along with many others.View attachment 1430688 I think not always being straight up,is part of being a Honest treasure hunter. Its just seems to be the nature of the business, along with other dastardly deeds. I didnt realise that at first. But now i do.

It is just my humble opinion, which may be very unpopular here, but people would do well not to buy into the whole templar thing. Or any other suggestion that cannot be backed up with real evidence. Baseless conjecture is a deep rabbit hole indeed, and our imaginative friend was an expert at spinning yarns that traveled deep into such holes. And when asked to back them up would just regurgitate with anger the same baseless conjecture that was uttered in the first place. Because things sound
good does not mean they are rooted in reality.

The best person on T-net to ask about things like this would be Old Bookaroo. He is a true expert on collecting and locating treasure related documents. SDCFIA is also good at that. If New Mexico Magazine does not have records back that far, it will probably take a search on ebay and amazon to try to locate someone who is selling old copies. You may also have some luck posting want ads on forums and websites where things can be bought and sold. You might also search in libraries in New Mexico. I will do a little searching myself on this and report back if I find anything.

UncleMatt. I am not a treasure hunter. I agree with your posts on Templars. Their existence in the Americas is unproven just one of my research projects. As to New Mexico magazine. Great advice. I need to take a road trip to libraries in NM to research old issues. Besides Old Buckaroo Randy Bradford has a good research library. Thanks for the response.

If there is any semblance of a Templar connection, it's my opinion that it's oblique and occurred much later than popular lore tries to imply. Same goes for the Jesuits, as anyone with even a shallow exposure to history ought to be able to see.

You of all people , sdcfia, should know there is no such thing as "true history". Snake worship, occult, etc., all toasted. Easter is coming up, we worship the Resurrection based on this calendar day----

the first Sunday (sun, look it up) following the first full moon (huh?) after the spring equinox ( the day the sun sets directly west, about Mar 21 ). WTH? this doesn't sound religious to me. It sounds "Pagan". Everything has been based upon astrological movements. Why?

Because basing the new allegories on celestial cycles kept them fairly familiar and more acceptable to the traditional practices of the times.

Thats ROGER that was 100 % off, not NP, he was accurate., and his lil map was surprising

aaccurate

I hope NP is well . Is a great treasure hunter and has many hundred miles of boots on the ground . Also has a vast knowledge about many treasure/mines sites in the SW .
The treasure hunter " family " would be not the same without NP .
NP , come back ! You have not yet permission to " go " .

Agreed!! You've been missed NP.. Just a pm to let us know you're OK would be welcomed.

Yeah, the information givers seem to be gone.
Roger got banned (forever I guess) and NP seems to have disappeared.
I guess we are on our own to figure this out.
Im not giving up, Im just getting started.

There is a huge difference between posting information that is valid and just spewing delusional nonsense. We were always on our own to figure things out, nobody was going to post information here that led to treasure.
