Basic signs and symbols you have found

The Large face is ancient, it predates the Spanish by centuries.
The other faces may have been earlier versions that were worked over to oblivion and replaced by the larger much more prominent one.
The significance of the face, and more importantly the Ancient, is that the Spanish knew it was here and they came looking specifically for it. The common theory is that the Spanish collected the ancient caches and relocated them.

Old Dog, what are your thoughts on the ancients? Are we talking Barry Fell here (basic B.C. era mining ops), or something older?

I believe I have said something quite similar. I don't know who Barry Fell is.
But yes B.C. era mining would be the scenario.
My partner and I have chased this stuff and the more of it we find the more inclined we are to believe it is Phoenician.

OD,
Barry Fell is the guy who translated the Phonecian markings at my site. He wrote a book about all the people in America before Columbus and got a lot of flack for it. I believe he was from Austraila. He's dead now.
okey dokey

Yes, Barry Fell did some amazing work, starting with "America B.C." It has quite a lot of info on Phoenicians in America, as well as Celtic, Libyan, etc. sites. Unfortunately, I am away from my library at the moment, but there is a map on ancient trade routes covering American sites that you would probably like. I can post it when I get back from the San Juans.

Cheers

Thomas

Classic Compass Rock. If you see one of these, you are on a trail. Kenworthy would have been proud. Credit to Itburnsus: ALT forum.

Acording to Kenworthy a mega flat rock,
held up or resting on 3 to 5 basketball size rocks that are on bedrock or large flat stone.
They will never be sitting in dirt,
and light must be seen between the support stones.

Nice Mike.
Some of these have been overlooked in the pursuit of things.
Glad to see them show up.

I wish I could take part in this discussion.

Unfortunately, the internet where I live is horrible. This page would take half an hour to open.

Hopefully, I can move some time within the next year

Tom,
We miss your input.
when you click on the thread click on the individual page,
you will load only the page intended not the whole thread.
You must be having a hard time with all the threads that have a few posts.
Bummer.

Ok, here we go...the source for these images is "America B.C. - Ancient Settlers in the New World", by Barry Fell, all rights reserved by him, etc.

Thanks Thomas,
does he get into the expanse of their travel in the South Western states?
I know that CO and NM and AZ are loaded with their stuff.
it would have been fun for him to have seen some of the things we are finding here.

I have seen a cell phone used as a high speed modem for a laptop. Seemed to work really well.

You are right Mike,
I have responded several times using my phone .
It works quite well, but you have to be quite precise as it will post your misspelled words and all if not.LOL

He sure does, but not quite in the level of detail as the eastern US. Some of the most interesting parts of the book to me were some theories he made on the Pima, where an ancient creation chant, which used an old version of their language only understood by tribal makai (read roughly as magicians), was actually a piece carried to America by Iberian Punic colonists. Some other evidence is provided for theories that the Zuni language is actually derived from Libyan/North African language.

In response to another promise made a while back,...
I said I would post these when I got them all together.

Here is a list of KGC survey marks.
Note that the Spanish used them as well, and the meanings are all the same.

thanks old dog, see my jpg
i have always wondered about the carving, and with your list, it seems to say distance
distance to what though, i always thought the arrow, was a trail marker to something
at the time i didnt look much farther from the boulder, and dont remember any other
outstanding rocks, ive only been there 2x, in 72 and 88, and i never took pics
any ideas on what it might be

CW,
Glad this info could spark a thought.
Look at a compass face and go clockwise.
I
If 45 degrees is NE
then 135 degrees is SE.
Sometimes the kiss method works pretty well.
