Basic signs and symbols you have found

just in case anyone's hunt got cold,
I did manage to get out and follow a few tracks of an old trail the other day. got to finish it up this week (in between rain storms)
Here are a few shots of the trip with some consecutive signs to show how the trail concluded.

The alpha hoyo (heart shaped)
points to a heart (of course) (I know, surprised me too. LOL)
A few more pointers and monuments
the trail in and then the cache hole.
One with me sitting in front of the vault for size.

Great pictures Old Dog. Thank you for sharing. MD

A very dramatic empty hole to say the least.
But by far one of the neatest ones I have found in a while.

Treasurechest,
Glad you enjoyed the trip.

Its not very often - on this site anyway that one show `s the trail from start to end
Like I always have said,
The best way to teach is by example - Not by making your students guess

Again Great Job... :read2: :coffee2:

Lost Horse

AMEN, Lost Horse. AMEN. Thom and yourself are true teachers who lead and instruct while patiently answering questions without derision. There are a LOT of us on the forum who greatly appreciate that fact. Y'all's minds are open on the trails as well as your eyes.

Lost Horse and everyone,

Thanks,
I have always had a little trouble with compliments.
But I agree the best teacher is a good example.

Glad I could give you all something enjoyable.

Nice nice

It helps so to see a trail followed, the key things pointed out, as you and LostHorse do.

Thanks for taking time to pull it together.

Thanks for the journey OD. I love seeing the trail and the end. Your field book is sure getting fatter. LOL
okey dokey

OD, that was a great set of pics. Wow.

I like your facial expression in the last pic sitting by the empty hole. It's like "...ah frig. Told ya so..."

Here is something to consider guys,
The size of that hole .....
And the fact that a cube of gold 12 inches on the side weighs about a ton!

My imagination runs wild with the amount of stuff that hole would hold.
all a guy can say is WOW.

Wow, I've seen some big holes before, but................................

Hey, Thom. Any chance of that being a decoy?

I don't think he dug anything. He's too clean in his pic..

Nope, no digging.
But there was a lot of ducking under that ledge to get out of the rain.
Many T-storms passed over us while we were rechecking this.

We went across the canyon to look at some possible stuff that turned out to be a pointer pointing us back to the other side of the canyon. While we were making our way back to the other side ... coming down through the trees we saw this beautiful Ancient lady.
she was meant to be seen from a distance. but what a beauty!
The sad Irony of this monument is that I have walked within feet of her for years looking at the smaller Spanish stuff ...
Again never looking at the giant ancient things that hide in plain site.

If you are talking about the animal just in front of her face ...
It is a horse that time has laid on it's side. a fantastic four legged guy ...probably could be stood up again. But why?

Not sure if the monument behind the tree is an eagle, But as soon as I get good pics we will all know.
I do know the trees are very large, the lady's head is about 12 feet tall.
