🥇 BANNER Really Cool Counterstamped 1814 Silver!!

Really Cool Counterstamped 1814 Silver!!
So yesterday i was at a late 1800s house with my friend..towards the end of the hunt i pulled out what i initially thought was a token of some sort. The front has an advertisement stamped in it...JAS S. BRADLEY/FINE PICTURES AND MIRRORS/GILDER AND FRAMEMAKER/154 Wm St. NY/CHEAPEST IN THE CITY....then i look at the coin a little closer and realize it's stamped on a 1814 silver 2 reales!! I guess mr. Bradley was known for stamping advertisements on old silver. I personally think it's one of the cooler finds i've made!

🥇 BANNER Yesssssssssss!

Yesssssssssss!
(found out this buckle is a rarity 8, meaning there are 16-30 known)

I have always wanted to dig a CS buckle of any type, and today I was able to cross it off the list!!

I hadn't been out in a couple weeks so I decided to head out this morning for a few hours. I went back to the spot where I found the 1851 Officer's sword belt buckle and sabre guard last month, and not 10 minutes into today's hunt, I found a pulltab LOL. And then, two feet away I scored the buckle. I immediately called a few buddies and was almost so excited I couldn't speak.

Honest to God, when I first dug it I...

🥇 BANNER Amazing Pendent

Amazing Pendent
Last week while we were out camping in northern Nevada, My two boy's and I decided to go metal detecting around some old hunting camps, I didn't expect to find much of anything out in the area but decided to give it a try. I found a few clad coins, one 1956 wheat penny, and a bunch of bullets. At one of the sites that I detected I found a nice gold toned ST. Christopher Medal. The best find that I came across was along one of the roads that I had seen an old dump site. I decided to try my luck around the dump, I didn't find anything at the dump, but I detected my way back to the road and I...

Third Field (1 hr) - Tudor Book Clasp,Poor hammered coin, Spur, Great Northern Railway Button

Mega Ring this time around ! Whydah & Casper Simply put WOW !
Hooked up with Casper early this morning at a Public Beach, that we both have hit in the past. I haven't been there since this past February, and Casper has been there once I think this year. We shared our story finds of the area as usual... He has had his nice share of Gold at this site, with a few diamonds in the mix...I had yet to see any diamonds from this beach, till today that is...:) I had mentioned that My son,Dad & myself had found Gold at this beach over this past Winter, in the high, and dry sand, after a small storm we had. We were pumped, and couldn't get suited up fast...

🥇 BANNER Searching for Sharps rifle parts nets another GOLD coin!

Searching for Sharps rifle parts nets another GOLD coin!
Some of you TNETers might remember my post on Dec. 8th 2009, of my find of a lifetime, being an 1871 CC $5 gold coin. If you remember I was searching for the barrel to a pepperbox frame that I had found on a prior hunt.

Well I did the same thing on July 5th (last week) searching for more pieces to a Sharps rifle that I have found multiple parts for. I was fortunate enough to have found another $5 gold coin, an 1870 S! This makes my 6th gold coin being found, and my 3rd in 2 yrs. and 7 months. I took a hiatus from the forums last year and didn't post an 1847 O $2.5!

Thanks for...

🥇 BANNER Platform pipe

Platform pipe
This is one of the best finds that I have and it started off as just another day at the creek. Yesterday, I went with my wife and daughter along with my sister and her husband to cool off from this 100+ degree heat we are having here in Southwest Georgia. Shortly after we got in the water, which was less than knee deep, my sister pointed out two flint tools she spotted laying on the creek bed. These finds told me that there was likely points in the area so I started looking as well. I began running my fingers through the sand and finding pottery shards. After I worked that area with little...

🥇 BANNER Gold Guinea 1698 - William III

Gold Guinea 1698 - William III
I can't believe how I missed this over the last years!
I returned to a pasture field which had already given me a few Roman coins, 2 Roman brooches and a Charles I shilling in the past. The farmer had ploughed, re-seeded it and it was now cut short again.
Concentrating on the area where the brooches had come from; hoping for more Roman finds, found this 5 - 6" below the surface. Saw the gleaming gold and thought 'Oh no, another bottle top come out with the muck'.... had a closer look: Wow, a William III Gold Guinea. 1698, 8.6g of 22ct gold.... Lovely :D...
