Hey Guys, this plate was quite a surprise!...I was recently digging an old Dragoons/Cavalry camp that served as an important post during the 1850's and the Civil War...I had a few Eagles in the pouch including some Eagle "D"s but hadn't dug anything a little while. HI everyone. I went for an early morning dive and find a few nice coins. When I was down to 500 pounds I started kicking back when I got a decent signal. I swept twice and saw a broken dish... when I turned it over there she was. What a beauty!!!! So rare I cannot find another example.

Today I had a pretty eventful time in the woods to say the least. It was simply one of those days of MDing that can never be forgotten. My detecting bud Joey and I hooked up yesterday to make the long drive to a remote rural county where we’ve researched and hunted together before. I spent 2 days on shotgun alley pumping in 15 hours detecting along with Dads 6 hours 45 minutes. Cleared tons of shotgun shells but it was well worth it.

The wife wanted to head out for a drive early this morning to look at the fall scenery, and the deal is I get a few minutes to detect while she listens to music. I noticed one of my beat sites was cut as I drove by, so I stopped to get a couple minutes in. Left the car, and made a beeline for the foundation in the center of the field. I’ve been detecting on & off for the past 30 years, but I’ve been going at it steadily with a concentration on colonial-period sites for the past 10 years, recovering many good finds. The last three years have been incredibly productive for me likely due to a number of factors; I’ve been very fortunate, and I’m thankful for that. I don’t know how long I can keep riding this wave, but for now I’ll just go with it and always hope for the best.

Stopped by our new site yesterday afternoon for a quick hunt and man am I glad I did! Hit the plowed area first and didn't find anything so I moved into the thicker grass area where it's harder to get the coil down but hadn't been worked as hard.
