Whites New Detector... Vision

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

Yo Brett, let me know when you get it, I'd love to come down and check it out.

Seems the DD coil is here to stay, about time.

First places to check it out are the noisy parks, that's where the benefits will come into play. Let's see it learn and recover gold coinage! Hit some noisy sites too, leaky transformers, low strung power lines, etc..

Then on to the good stuff at those remote old sites.

You picking it from Ron?

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

Yep.

I think I might go dig some holes in my local park and bury some targets. Depth test, junk in the hole test, air test, nearby iron test... oh, should I do a test where I just stand cool with it outside of Target and see how many chics I pick up verses the other top of the line detectors??

What type of tests would you guys like to see with the Vision?

How it handles iron and how it compares to the Explorer.
Depth and gold detecting abilities would also be interesting, but that's bonus.

If it's good neough I might consider changing in my detectors for one of these, I must talk to my local dealer more about this one. Seems very interesting.

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

Sounds like a sweet machine

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

if this thing is using the d2 coil does that mean that I can use my dfx coils on it also? I am sure like some of you other guys out there I have more invested in extra coils than I do in my DFX. I would hate to have to get rid of these and start all over.... at a sugnificant loss in $

I hope you wouldn't have to buy new coils for it, but I heard that the Vision will only work with D2 coils made after a certain date. I can't confirm that though, but it does make it sound different.

If the Vision was revolutionary though... and could go deeper and separate trash way better than the DFX, wouldn't it be worth buying new coils? Or maybe the D2 will be the only coil you need.

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

Regarding coils, such as D2, if there is the letter "V" marked on the coil at the clevis connection, it is supposed to be Vision acceptable.

:-)

Retail is $1,500? Is that MSRP?

Wonder what the shelf price is gonna be?

$1500 is ballpark... plus or minus $100 or so maybe... but yeah, MSRP. We're just guessing here.

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

my big question is it supposed to replace the dfx 300 or what whites told me the dfx 300 was going to set the standard for whites for a long time if ti si going to put the dfx 300 down a notch i might have to contact whites about trading in my dfx300 for the vision i was not supposed to see the dfx 300 back burnered for a long time

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

NO!, the Vision is NOT replacing the DFX 300. As you were told, the DFX 300 will be around for a long time.

:-)

They are not going to do anything to hurt sales. They have to keep the DFX because it had a lot less whistles.

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

Oh crap.........what am I gonna have to sell now to get one of these!! :D

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

Looks like retail will be around $1495 with out wireless headphones $1695 with the headphones.

$200 extra for the headphones.

Do not know if any other bluetooth phones will work with it or not.

Will also be able to use regular headphones.

Re: White's New Detector... Vision

You guys aren't going to wanna hear this but the Bluetooth system they developed is propritary, so if you want wireless audio you are going to have sell off your backup Ace 250 as well. :-(
